Regarding what you said at around the 47:00–48:00 mark, the thing about teams like the 90s Bulls and other successful teams where you had players who had bad attitudes or bad behaviors etc, those players still had mutual respect for their coaches like the Bulls had with Phil Jackson. That how he was able to get through to them. Plus you had leaders on the team like Jordan who helped keep players on their toes. Coaches can only manage and get through to players if the players have mutual respect for their coaches. If Ayton doesn’t respect Monty, then how can Monty get through to him? And if Ayton lashes out, or bites back Monty during a game, then maybe the only way he can get Ayton’s attention is by sitting him. Not saying that’s exactly what it is, just a hypothetical based on what we’ve seen between Month and Ayton multiple times before. Point is you can’t always pin issues of the players on the coach just like you can’t pin all the issues on a player. It’s a team effort and everyone has their part to play. That’s why chemistry and mutual respect are crucial or else you’ll get issues like the Suns are dealing with night after night which clearly stem from everyone not being on the same page, which starts with what’s going on in that locker room and practice facility.
