James Wiseman checks out vs the Knicks: 4 points (1/4 FG, 2/2 FT, 0/1 3PT), 3 rebounds, 2 assists (2 TOV), 1 steal, 2 blocks, -29 in 22 minutes

Reposting since the [other thread](https://np.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/zr88pu/james_wiseman_4_ponits_on_14_shooting_in_22/) was removed. But it feels like a competing team like the Warriors are not the right place for Wiseman to develop into an NBA contributor. What do you think his future holds?

How do the warriors even trade him at this point. He’s making 12 million which is 5th highest in the team next year and with repeater luxury tax that’s 88 million for a bust. Most expensive g leaguer of all time

  2. jelly1studio

As how the greatness of GSW scouting staff, they really failed on this guy.

  3. SlimReaper35_

This might be the biggest bust in modern history since Bennett. I mean even Bagley wasn’t this bad damn.

  4. LeMickeyMice

Can’t wait for some warriors fan to try to explain how this is good

    >What do you think his future holds?

Depends on the team he’s traded to because Golden State is not the place for him to develop.

  6. thatonezorofan

This dude is genuinely trash. I feel so bad for Warriors fans. Dude’s making like 12 million bucks and can’t even defend.

Why do these threads keep getting deleted?

  8. achyutthegoat

He’s going down as one of the biggest busts in NBA history. The number 2 draft pick stays cursed.

  9. weasleyisron

Why did the 2 other Wiseman posts get deleted lol

As someone who’s watched a lot of Wiseman play this year, it makes no sense to me how he fits with this team.

His main strengths is offense, he’s supposed to be a stretch big who can throw down lobs and work out of the post, problem is this warriors team doesn’t need that from him, so he gets little to no touches outside of dump offs and lobs.

So we relegate him to dunkers spot and the occasional PnR, and his screening has improved, but he has no chemistry with ball handlers.

His defense is very inconsistent, still figuring out drop coverage and the timing but the flimsy POA defense ahead of him makes is extremely difficult on him.

All in all, I think he can still be very good, but he needs a lot of reps and minutes that the dubs can’t afford at this moment. If he goes to another team, he needs a solid PnR guard next to him so he can get easy buckets on O. He’d put up 18/10 on a shit team where he can work through his mistakes.

Damn saw this coming from a mile away. G league stats mean shit if you actually pay attention to his game

  12. carvemynuts

Poku got fucking slammed in his Rookie year and Poku played better than him lol

  13. loafloop

maybe he is just a not very good player 🥱

  14. onepokemanz

bro the tnt cast sucked him off the whole game.

it was weird asf, i get what they doing, but like chill out, there are better players that deserve better praise

  15. Kuni_Nino

You motherfuckers seriously going to do this everytime he has a bad game? The whole team played like ass

  16. motorboat_mcgee

I really want to see if Wiseman would work on a different team, just seems like such a bad fit for each other on the Warriors

  17. Yeah it’s bad, but I just gotta say the -29 is just rubbing it in for no reason.

Klay was -28, Poole was -27, we were all the ass today

  18. Vallerie_09

He makes JaMychal Green look good. Not surprised why Kerr won’t play him when JMG is healthy

If the mavs are willing to tank for this year and Kidd is unsure on C.Wood then I wonder if a Wood for Wiseman, Moody and maybe some seconds would work. Warriors can bring him off the bench as a efficient scorer who can stretch the floor and they have draymond to cover his weaknesses in defense. Mavs will tank this year so they can develop both the players and hope they can contribute next season/future even if in a bench role .

  20. CreepyDepartment5509

    Warriors don’t abandon their J’s

  21. AffectionateSoup24

Wiseman isn’t even close to being an NBA player. Forget a good one. One of the worst players in the history of the league honestly.

  22. rarestakesando

Thanks for calling us a competing team.

  23. GlueGuy00

he’s a bad fit with the Warriors. He is a scoring big, not a do the dirty work type of big.

  24. bdgrluv212

I think that people need to chill out with analyzing this guys every game. Wiseman barely played in college barely has played as a pro, he is still developing we need to stop doing this to players. We want everyone to be so great so quickly, we have zero patience.I can’t imagine what it’s like for him to read The constant criticism that everyone levy’s on him for the Warriors shitty play.

  25. sicholasLames

James wiseman is giving off huge Marvin Bagley vibes

  26. rahrens21

Serious question: is he the biggest bust since Anthony Bennett?

  27. KarlsReddit

Goto any highschool. Find the best big man. That Wiseman. That’s his experience when drafted.

  28. MyLittleRocketShip

hes barely played in and out of injuries and only has 50 games total. give him so more time to develop lol. classic r nba overreaction circlejerk just like kawhi having degenerative bones lol??

  29. SmileyPiesUntilIDrop

If Wiseman improves slowly but surely in 2-3 years he might good enough to start for the Shanghai Sharks.

  30. SeparateJellyfish260

I’ll go to my grave saying this was such a stupid fucking pick before and after the draft. This guy was nowhere near being a top 10 pick. So tired of teams wasting these lottery picks on project players when clearly brutally obvious NBA ready guards and wings are sitting right there, always being far more impactful than any of these bigs. Embiid is pretty much the only one since Shaq that actually worked out. Stop taking the fucking bigs in modern basketball. They have to be all-time good to be as valuable as a good guard or wing.

  31. Technuggs15

Anyone who’s seen him attempt screens knows this dude has a small toy clapping in his brain and nothing else. Negative IQ PLAYER

  32. hossbonaventure15

Darko is better. This guy is a disaster. Hopefully he can find peace as the world’s tallest barista

  33. OcearaPrz

Wiseman is scared to death every second he’s on the floor because Kerr has him on a magnifying glass, every little mistake he’ll be pulled. Needs to have pressure relieved on him like the the G league. Still looking like a bust though

  34. pinkiebear

I’ll never forget the front office wanting him to have the starting spot his rookie year over Looney. He was so bad and costed us so many games in a season where we ended up 8th (this was with the team going like 1-8 without Steph) and they were 3 games back from the 5th/6th seed. They punted that season for his development and it was so irritating because every Warriors fan knew as long as Steph was playing we had a chance.
