Firing Nate – Jake says bad look to other coach if the Hawks fire Nate mid season given the history with LP. Saying it wouldn’t make a coach feel secure in there role. Said move more likely at year end. Did say feels more likely than not Nate is fired.

Nick ressler’s involvement with organization – Jake mentions a lot of GMs don’t have experience before they get the GM job . Said Nick could be helpful in relating to players given his age. Doesn’t say the set up is rare….unfortunately all the management situations he has brought up aren’t management for good teams. Compares Nick to the eldest brother in succession..

JC – Atlanta potentially interested in player on rookie deal, would take us getting picks in addition to player. Doesn’t say. Said Detroit won’t do jc for bey and other bogi straight up. Also not sure about pistons front court needs. Said there was an offer for lauri made. Said there isn’t a super clear spot to trade him to. Hawks aren’t dumping him though, brad said they are asking for equal value. Jake and brad agreed front office change won’t change the hawks wanting equal value back for JC. Brad said hawks didn’t really negotiate JC’s deal. Jake said John is looking for change of scenery.

DJM long term future – Jake says he hasn’t spoken to him. Haven’t heard anything that concerns him. Brad says the same.

Trae & coach & team – Caller ask about locker room. Mentions a quote from someone about trae not liking the coach and the team not liking playing with trae. Jake says it may be true and concerning, but in his opinion irresponsible and unfair to report that. Says some of his superstar behavior rubs teammates the wrong way. Does note that trae isn’t a “franchise personality” right now (as compared to a Giannis or Zion). Brad says they he doesn’t know how every player feels, but yeah, not everyone in the locker room likes trae. Says locker room not in best shape, but not fair to say no one likes trae (both him as a person and player). Caller ask about ray sr. involvement. Jake says ray is very close with trae and his day to day, as a result, yeah ray has some influence and involvement, but doesn’t think it’s any different than any other players’ close figures in their life (mentions uncle Dennis and kawhi specifically). Says it may raise eyebrow but not unique. Brad says ray is just more online than others so we see a lot more. Says if he wasn’t on twitter, likely would never know/care. Jake says ray is also very plugged in the NBA. Says trae was hanging out with KD when he was a teenager. Same kinda thing with Aj griffin.

The stuff said about Nick Ressler would be the most concerning for me. Pretty obvious that’s a source for Jake with how that was phrased. If “his age could help him relate to the players more” is the redeeming quality there, that’s an issue. Age or not, NBA players are going to have a hard time relating to a billionaires son who didn’t earn his position.

I had no idea that Schlenk was leaving. Man it seems like stuff is about to get really shitty tbh.
