I said some time ago that this team’s ceiling, in a strange way, is reliant on Simmons. The fact he can take the ball out of the hands of KD/Kyrie which opens up not just shots for them but shots for everyone is *so* valuable. The Nets, due to those two, used to have a tendency of slowly being a “my turn, your turn” team with KD and Kyrie going back and forth. Now, with Simmons, the ball is shared around more, there’s more space for others to work and the team is playing better much better defensively too.
I really hope he regains full fitness and the Nets stay healthy.
