Vassell is the best player in the team right and our future all star. Leave him alone.
Nah, they are not giving up that many first-round picks, and I'm not too fond of trading away our most potential player(until next year), before hitting his heyday. When we look back at our team, we only traded away star potential players when they demanded it, like the Kawhi situation, even DJM implied it just in a more subtle way.
Naaah, for that they would ask for KJ or LittleRodnman (that's my nickname for Sochan)

I personally think that we have a good supporting cast with Vassel, KJ, and so on and we just missing a primary star like a Wemby or “Luka”. Because in my opinion if Luka was to play for this current spurs team with pop I truly believe he would be in a better place in the standings than where he’s at with the Mavs. But that’s just me.
I would not trade Vassell for the next 10 years. Anyway. The problem is that I personally, as a Spurs fan, like to identify with the players who play for us, and for me at the moment Keldon and Devin should be untouchable, just like Mills was untouchable before

Luka has many more years, Dallas is better off keeping the draft picks even if their current or next season doesn’t work out.
Devin isn’t getting traded he is worth like 4 first round picks alone. He is a future all star on a low contract. Everyone making up these stupid trades ain’t no one accepting. It’s a waste of time

There is no way the Spurs are trading Vassell. I can see them trading the 2023 first draft pick for Lukas. But anything including Vassell? No way bruuuhhhh

Those picks would be absolute Dog Shit with the mavericks having a superstar in Luka, and co-stars in wood and Vassell. On top of that they clear up financial flexibility by dumping 2 of the worst contracts in the league onto us and getting 2 extremely team friendly contracts.
You gotta look past what the deal looks like on paper. I’m not trying to be a homer here, but this deal isn’t good for us. Luka is locked into a 5 yr deal, Vassell is on a rookie deal, and now they have flexibility to bolster their roster even more.
It would be reminiscent of that God Awful Pau Gasol trade of the early 2000’s where a contender (the lakers) got a co-Star for essentially NOTHING of value since those picks the lakers gave up ended up being late 1st.
(Grizzlies did get Marc gasol in that deal but he was a statical anomaly becoming as good as he did as a second round pick)
The Mavericks are couple of pieces off from making a deep playoff run. Adding someone like Devin, who brings defensive pressure and can shoot from anywhere is a good step in the right direction. Devin is a 3 level shooter that can take pressure off of Luka which I believe is huge in preserving Luka body for that deep playoff push.
I believe Devin height and all around game is a upgrade from Jalen and the stats show that, and not to mention the age difference which fits Luka timeline.
Do I believe the Mavs picks is worth trading Devin, my answer is no. Picks are there to better your chances of landing a player that will add to your teams overall goal for a championship. Losing a young, tall, and 3-D who can shoot from anywhere is a blow to the spurs overall goal. Besides, it not guarantee that they will find someone better than Devin with those draft picks.
The spurs are building something special, I wouldn't mess it up by trading a key piece like Devin.
We need to trade Pop. Forget any other trade suggestions.

A rare time when I disagree with Clan, and in this case only about continuing to struggle if they got Wemby. Hmmm. I think the Spurs would have an adjustment period and learning curve during most of Wemby’s rookie year, but after that they’d be a 3-4 seed going forward.
Think of how many games the Spurs have lost this year that they could have won if they’d just had a fourth qtr, go-to scorer. Wemby might struggle with up and downs as a rookie, but after that….now you’re just deciding things like, whether to keep KBD or Isaiah Roby, etc.
