    GAME NOTES:

Lauri Markkanen is way too good at basketball man. But, he also has a bad habit of just sitting in the corner, not really creating his own shot or moving for position. I don’t know if it is coaching, or just a bad habit, but the Jazz do better when Lauri is aggresive

We ran a lineup in the 4th of Conley, NAW, Lauri, Vando, and Olynyk. While we didn’t score with that lineup, it was pretty good defensively.

Our perimeter defense is bad. We aren’t staying attached to shooters, and good 3 point shooting teams kill us.

It was nice to have Olynyk back. Kessler didn’t have the sole center job, and it offers us that 5-out offense which Hardy loves. Olynyk had some clutch defensive plays. He finished with 9 and 6, but man him missing those 2 free throws with 45 sec left was tough to watch

Collin Sexton is very close to becoming the second best player on the jazz in my eyes. He just needs to fix his defensive consistency, and his offensive decision making. He is fearless at attacking the rim, and extremely crafty and strong for his size and build. He is intense defensively, but just needs to clean up his defensive awareness to be the second best player behind Lauri.

Our fourth quarter defense also needs to be sharper. We were outscored 19-9 the first 8 minutes of the fourth, and only scored 13 the entire FOURTH QUARTER.

To go with that, our fourth quarter offense went stale. We turned it over, and started forcing passes and shots which we didn’t the first 3 quarters.

JC had himself a GAME. His 3 point shot still isn’t falling at a rate we want to see (besides him hitting that clutch 3), but he’s hitting his 2’s.

I love NAW’s evolution from a lanky chucking G to a defensive minded 3/D long guard. It is so different seeing him contribute in game compared to last year

Walker Kessler man 3 blocks in 20 minutes, with only one foul. He needs to work on his free throws, and strength in the paint, but I can easily seeing him be our starting Center for the next few years.

Kelly Olynyk had an INCREDIBLE block and save against Kuminga with about 3 min left in the fourth quarter which helped ignite us defensively the last 3 min of the game.

Conley’s shooting needs to find it’s way back. He has 3 bad shooting nights, and then 1 good night, and tonight was a tough shooting night. 2-11 and 1-8 from 3. He did have 10 assists to 3 turnovers, which is great. Just need him to get back to his shooting averages.

Beasley also has gone cold the last few games. 3-12 and 1-8 from 3.

I’m chalking up our cold shooting to the amount of games we’ve played, and us playing 20 games on the road so far. We also have 6 of our next 7 on the road. I’m really hoping the last half of the season we are able to string together consistent wins with more rest and more home games.

40/32/69 shooting by us. Just terrible. We should’ve won this game with all the warriors players sitting, but we can’t win shooting that terribly, and ONLY SCORING 13 POINTS IN THE FOURTH QUARTER.

Abysmal performance the last 12 minutes of the game. Wasn’t a scheduled loss by any means, and it hurts with us being up by 12 at one point. Our pace the first quarter was great, and we matched it again the third quarter, but the second and fourth quarters were our downfall.

    19-18 bitches. tough loss

What’s nice about this season is that the team has zero expectations so it isn’t the end of the world when we have frustrating losses like this.

What’s not nice is that frustrating losses like this are fucking frustrating.

Probably would’ve had a chance if we replaced Conley with a traffic cone and played 4v5, horrible shots and decisions from him the the tire second half.

    4/25 and 1/12 from 3 in the 4th quarter.

    Absolute meltdown.

Holy fuck tht hurt to watch. Lauri showing such promise in the first half but when he doesn’t get fed much in the second, what can you do.

Not a lot of help from other scorers tonight. Let’s get the W Friday in Sacramento
