And here is what they said about the Sixers:

Ultimately, as old as this team is and as many picks as it has given away, the path to re-tooling is just too clear to justify trading away the core of a contender.”
We are essentially looking at a two year timeline where we can rebuild if needed. Or retool if Embiid decides to stick with us.

Definitely just a take for the sake of a take. Writer is saying there’s no reason for the sixers to retool now because it’ll be easier in a couple of years? How about because you don’t blow up a championship contender. This is what you get when you have to write an article with one premise about all 30 teams.
Yep, we’ll have great cap space to retool and have bird rights on Maxey and can honestly probably resign Tobias for a solid deal.
He wouldn’t be a bad wing to keep around if he’s at ~20M or so. Embiid Maxey Melton Tobi is a pretty solid foundation with max space.
