So has the internet just established NBA history that the loss in Game 7 of 2018 wasn’t a complete rigging?

Maybe the most frustrating thing about being a Rockets fan for me these past few years, and something that genuinely makes me mad enough to the point of wanting to throw or punch something, is how the internet has collectively decided that because of the stupid 0-27 straight 3’s stat, the Rockets didn’t get absolutely railroaded by the officiating in that game 7.

I’ve watched multiple breakdowns of the infamous Kings-Lakers playoff series, and honestly I don’t see how that even comes close to what we collectively witnessed as a fanbase happen to our team by the refs that game.

But everyone seems perfectly comfortable saying that the Kings-Lakers series was rigged.

Meanwhile you have a closeout game 7 against the most overpowered team of all time where the refs take away arguably net 20 points from your teams score, and no one seems to ever mention it.

It is like it has been completely lost to history, already. And that is really frustrating.

EDIT: this isn’t even a complete record but here:

Educate yourselves before you come in here with dumb opinions like “we still would have lost the game if we got those calls.” How anyone can say that with certainty is beyond stupid to me.

  1. What do you mean, “everyone seems perfectly comfortable saying that the Kings-Lakers series was rigged”? I don’t feel comfortable saying that any NBA series was rigged.

Let it go, man. It’s been over 4 years now. Nobody cares anymore

it was rigged for sure, but we also missed 27 threes

missing 27 threes cant be blamed on the refs, we got fucked by the refs but it wasnt the reason we lost

  4. Yeah, the Rockets choked in that game from behind the arc. When you brick 27 threes you shouldn’t go making up stories for why you lost. My first Rockets game in-person was during the Moses Malone era, so I go way back. There are thrilling wins and heartbreaking losses. It’s a cycle. That game hurt. So did losing to the Jazz in Game 6 of the Conference Finals in 97 on a last second shot. And Damian Lillard’s 2014 buzzer beater that sent what I thought was a superior Rockets team packing. And all those series where we just couldn’t get past Seattle. But I don’t go claiming it was the NBA’s fault, that it was part of some grand scheme decided in a boardroom somewhere. Because it also wasn’t a grand scheme by the league when the Rockets pulled off a clutch game 7 win against the Knicks to win the championship, or when they buried Orlando the next year for their second ring (wow, that game one!), or when Olajuwon torched David Robinson and the Spurs. I’d be pretty pissed if Knicks fans said it was a conspiracy that the Rockets won the finals!

Almost every game of the team every fan is supporting loses because of the refs.

The game after Chris Paul went out?

Damn who knew Donald Trump was a rockets fan and on Reddit?!

  8. A lot of games are rigged, but that doesn’t excuse poor coaching and players not making shots.

    We lost, move on already

Some of y’all are such pathetic fans

Klay continued to jump into the shooter like ZaZa and harden made a three while fouled and it was called off are my worst memories of officiating

Unfortunately, 0-27 had way more to do with the kids than officiating.

You cannot win basketball games without making shots. The refs could have been perfect, but 0-27 would have still made it a loss.

Why do you care if people don’t bring up the refs from 4 years ago? It’s irrelevant. Yeah, the Kings got ripped. And then what?

A Harden fan complaining about refs is always GOLDEN

Finally someone agrees with me. And don’t forget game 6. 15+ point lead in that game too. Rigged as hell

I knew it was coming when they didnt see/call durant’s obvious out of bounds play

Just because we somehow magically won that game should have been a warning and our club should have done something to avoid a similar bs happen in game 6&7
