Clippers are 8-13 when Covington plays this season

This is a literal fact: https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/clippers-record-when-covington-plays-this-season

Should RoCo play more despite this number? YES

What is my point? THAT NUMBER IS TOO EASILY A MISNOMER. AND YET I SEE SOME PEOPLE REPEATEDLY RELYING ON IT TO SCAPEGOAT CERTAIN PLAYERS FOR THE TEAM’S PROBLEMS, WHEN BIGGER PROBLEMS ARE AT ISSUE INCLUDING THE BIGGEST, TOO MUCH TY LUE TINY BALL KILLING US AND HAVING NO BACKUP BIG EVEN THO WE ARE NOW HALFWAY INTO THE SEASON.

Did you know the Clippers are also 3-5 when Diabate plays? Https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/clippers-record-when-diabate-plays-this-season

Clippers are also 14-12 when Moses Brown plays. https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/clippers-record-when-moses-brown-plays-this-season

Do I think we should have less Diabate and more Moses Brown? NO. IF ANYTHING, I WISH DIABATE COULD PLAY EVERY GAME AND MOSES BROWN (SORRY MOSES) SENT TO THE G LEAGUE

But what about those win-loss numbers tho? AGAIN, YOU CANNOT USE THAT NUMBER TO SCAPEGOAT A PLAYER FOR THE TEAM’S MOST OBVIOUS PRESSING ISSUES.

What are the team’s most obvious issues? There is a laundry list. But the easiest one?

1. Clippers never filled the backup big spot after Hartenstein left. We could’ve also signed Whiteside or Boogie or even ugh* Dwight Howard to a two-way to see their fit. Instead we have Moses Brown who clearly will not be with the team come playoffs. And we are getting killled when Zu is off the floor with historically awful rebounding numbers and open season at the rim for opposing team’s competent bigs.

2. We are relying too heavily on Morris and Reggie. If you watch other teams, they start targeting these guys and wrecking them. It’s sad to watch. If I was an opposing team tho, I’d do the same!!

Morris and Reggie are great but we need to change them to a different role.

3. A backup big actually solves the Wall problem. He’s become an all star off the pick and roll with a big. He did it with Gorat, he was great with Christian Wood before he went down, and he’s shown flashes with even Moses Brown. Instead we have Wall in some weird 4-guard postmodern NBA BS that wouldn’t work with anyone. We are wasting his PnR with a big man abilities. It’s like telling Klay Thompson he can’t shooot 3s and then getting mad at him for not producing more. You’re literally blaming a man after capping him at the knees.
