Previewing the home stand that will make or break the Toronto Raptors season | Raptors vs. Bucks

In Episode 1313, Sean Woodley goes solo to preview the Toronto Raptors’ six-game home stand which starts tonight against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks and will determine the course of the remainder of the Raptors’ season. Off the top, Sean digs into why the slate of games against the Milwaukee Bucks, Portland Trail Blazers, New York Knicks, Charlotte Hornets (x2) and Atlanta Hawks over the next couple weeks is the biggest stretch of ball for the team in years, why the future of Fred VanVleet feels very much at stake, and why the Raptors needs to go at minimum 4-2, preferably 5-1 or 6-0 to keep this season from spiralling off the tracks. Next, Sean talks about why no matter the outcome, the idea of trading this year’s first round pick for upgrades should be firmly off the table, although for the right long term upgrade, the first rounders beyond 2023 should still be on the table if it means Toronto can improve its position for 2023-24 and beyond. Lastly, Sean takes a look at the struggling Milwaukee Bucks and why, without Khris Middleton, they might be ripe to get punished by some old school Raptors junk defense, in a similar fashion to the five consecutive games they’ve dropped to Toronto. Buckle up!

  1. Don’t be surprised that Barnes will leave after his rookie contract, if the raptors keep asking him to play center.

  2. 3:00 just like the Raptors needing 52 from Pascal to beat the Knicks, also maybe the reason Wolves fans were having fun with there team being in the play in is because from 2004 to present day the Wolves have been in the actual playoffs once so the play in for that team/fanbase would be mean a whole hell of a lot.

  3. Raptors have done nothing this season to show that they deserve help via burning our valuable assets in picks to get marginal help in the grand scheme of things. This season is a wash.

  4. the team is good but IQ is low and no creator aside from Pascal. But Pascal creation still just going downhill midrange is still hit or miss

  5. I don't get this "make or break" idea, as if it could go either way with this team. We know what this team is, and they're not a playoff team.

  6. to me this season kind of feels similar to the 08-09 raptors. i’m not directly comparing the players skills but i see some similarities. Bosh/Siakam all nba, Bargnani/Barnes 1st/4th pick, Calderon/Vanvleet meh, Marion/Boucher wildcard, J.O’Neal/ thad young old ass vet. RoKo/ Flynn unknown what they’ll be. anthony parker, jamario moon, pops and joey graham all combine to one player to make O.G lol

  7. I just think at this point of the szn the Raptors have given enough evidence that they are a bad team.. I really want to be optimistic but they just had so many bad losses and the wins were just unsustainable stuff
