  1. The crazy thing is it felt regular, like he can do that a lot

  2. NitroXYZ

Wish he hit that last shot for 50 but what a spectacular performance by Markkanen. If he doesn’t make the All-Star game I am going to be talking about it for days upon days upon weeks upon months on end and go the grave talking about the robbery.

Number 30 and number 23 both got a career high in points

27 FG for Lauri, I want to see more of these kind of games. Well this was a must win game as Rockets really aren’t good. Still finally W, now to keep getting that W streak going.

ENORMOUS shout-out to how good Ochai was in the fourth quarter. He made those minutes count with his threes, that dunk and hustle plays down the stretch.

If Lauri had eclipsed 50 he wouldn’t be the only one Finnishing

I’m really happy about Markkanen and Agbaji tonight. Great way to snap a losing streak with 2 career highs

Dont let Ochai Agbaji scoring 11 points overshadow the fact Markkanen got 49

AHHH I really wanted that 50!! When was the last time a jazz player had 50 in the regular season? Malone? I know don had a few in the playoffs but I don’t think he had a regular season 50 piece.

Who said Lauri can’t be a #1 in the game thread!?!

    GAME NOTES:

8 turnovers! 31 assists! This has been one of the best showings on not turning the ball over and passing. 34 assists on 46 shots.

Lauri our absolute golden child. BRAND NEW CAREER HIGH FOR OUR ALLSTAR AND SO CLOSE TO A 50 BURGER! HE TRIED SO HARD LMAO 49 ON 27 SHOTS WITH 13-13 FROM THE LINE WHAT A PLAYER. 49-8-2. Brilliant performance. I loved seeing him demand the ball, and get shots. Good things happen when he is aggressive, and I think he is realizing it. His last 10 games are nutty numbers. 28.6 points, 8 rebounds on 53/45/93 shooting splits.

Ochai Agbaji actually got minutes and was a big part of our early fourth quarter. 11 points on 4/5 shooting, and had an active tip off a miss which set up a dunk. He played great, I’m a big fan of his, I hope he is able to keep this level of play up!

Beasley was able to provide a good 1-2 punch with Lauri. He had 19 on 7/14, 5/11 from 3. He didn’t do anything else but shoot, but he was shootin

JC wasn’t playing his best, he checked into the 4th and immediately Houston went on a 7-0 run off a bad miss and turnover by JC. But, he did finish with 19 points, 5 assists, 2 steals, and 4 rebounds.

I’m surprised THT got minutes in all honesty. He played well in his 16 minutes, getting 4-4-2. He didn’t look out of control.

Our bigs struggled rebounding against Sengun, Eason, and Martin Jr. We allowed 14 OReb’s, but we were able to pull off the victory due to Lauri, god bless him.

We need better perimeter defense, hopefully Agbaji and NAW can provide that. JC and Conley aren’t quite cutting it, it seems every G gets big points against us.

Rudy Gay actually played alright today. Still want him off the team, but 5 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, plus 1 steal and 1 block in 16 min. +10 in his minutes

Conley is off and on with his shot, he isn’t as consistent as he used to be, but big ups on the 11 assists and 0 TURNOVERS. Big dog plays

Vando with another big dog performance. 5 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, with only 3 fouls. That’s huge for him! He did have 3 turnovers, but he also provided some flashy passing. I hope we are able to develop him into a good passing wing/big. It would elevate our future offenses quite a bit to have a playmaker on the elbow.

Kessler wasn’t as dominant today, which was weird. Half of his rebounds were offensive, which is nice.

Olynyk played poorly. 1-6 shooting, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 fouls. He only played 21 minutes which is shocking, I think we are starting to phase his minutes out for Kessler. I don’t think Kessler starts anytime soon, but I could see Kessler starting to get 20+ minutes consistently.

Overall a great free throw shooting game, we only missed 1 free throw and it was from Vando. Pair that with our assists and low turnovers, it felt good to blow a team out after our 5 straight losses.

20-21 bitches! VOTE LAURI FOR ALL STAR, KESSLER SAID SO.

Lauri Markkanen with such a complete game. Also dominated Sengun down low when put to defend the 5. Absolutely amazing, the sky is the limit for him!

  13. IceIceHazard

Really would have loved a fifty-piece on the Rockets, but still just happy we closed out when we needed. Can’t wait to see Lauri break his career high throughout the rest of this season too.

  14. rc_cola34

Good to see lauri get a new career high and really finnish this one after he seemed pretty upset over the last 5 games.

Although it would have been special for the game winner to count then come drop 50 on Houston’s head.

Basketball gods setting us up for something great though.
