[Koreen] The last of those acquisitions happened in 2017, though. Outside of bringing in Boucher on a two-way contract in 2018, the Raptors have not gotten much out of the draft picks they have made or the low-risk signings they have executed since then.

>Second-rounders and unsigned players such as Dewan Hernandez, Jalen Harris and David Johnson are out of the organization, as is Justin Champagnie.

>Dalano Banton and Koloko, second-round picks in the last two years, have both flashed, but have yet to carve out consistent roles for themselves. Oshae Brissett and Yuta Watanabe did the same with the Raptors, but are now filling actual rotation spots on better teams, playing 16 and 19 minutes per game for the Pacers and Nets, respectively.

>Without a deeper dive into the dynamics of the Raptors’ program, it’s impossible to say where the biggest problem is. In any case, the front office needs the coaching staff and the coaching staff needs the front office to fix it. In the interim, the player development failure is contributing to a sinking season.

Development under Nick Nurse has been minimal. Very disappointing

Blake Murphy made a point of this on Tuesday’s Raptors Show where he said that their end of the roster signings since Boucher have not been beneficial.

Also says that while the Thad trade was helfpul last year, the $$ used there (along with Birch) is part of their depth issue.

Jalen Harris and Terence Davis were supposed to be special

FO and Nick Nurse basically playing chicken. Masai and bobby keep giving him 6’9 guys that can’t shoot and Nick keeps leaving them on the bench to rot.

    We didn’t have a pick in 2018

    Drafted Dewan 59th in 2019

Malachi at 29, and Jalen at 59 in 2020

Scottie at 4, and Dalano at 46 in 2021

    Koloko at 33 in 2022

I don’t know how you look at that and bitch about our draft picks. What was he expecting from the 59th pick?

The quality of player is commiserate with the quality of pick that we had. The only maybe whiff was Malachi, and again. What do you expect of the 29th pick?

There’s a 3 year period where we didn’t have a pick, drafted 59th twice, and had our highest pick being 29th. That more than anything explains the lack of development

That’s one of the issues with bringing in redundant players.

we aren’t always gonna draft gems.

this season Koloko is getting very good playing time for his current skill level imo.

hoping an off season where he can improve his touch around the rim and put on weight will make him a good backup center next season.

This is a stretch at best.

Two promising second round picks havent carved out roles, one is in the middle of his rookie season and one is in his sophomore season (and killing the G League)?

Oh my god, we suck at everything.

This ‘sky is falling’ bullshit is a joke lol. Yes we need to make a move or two, let’s not get carried away.

I think WE THE NORTH will come to an end soon

Didn’t they lose their lead development coach to GSW?
