  1. Tatum have Brown.
    Embiid have Harden.
    Jokic have Murray.
    Giannis have Holiday.
Luka have Casper, the friendly ghost.

  2. Do you guys thinks this season '23 is better than 2016 season by far? I just want to hear y'all opinion.

  3. Objectively speaking, Jokic tops the NBA once again in every advanced stat metric. He's #1 in PER, RAPTOR score, WAR, VORP, Win Shares, Box Plus/Minus. Defensively he's #1 in Defensive Box Plus Minus, #3 in Defensive RAPTOR, only center to be top 20 in steals and most other metrics place him in the top 15 in the NBA in defensive value. The Nuggets have the best offense and 5th best defensive in the NBA when Jokic is on the floor and they're an NBA best +11 when he's on the court. Last year the excuse was the Nuggets were a 6th seed, so what's the excuse this year when they're for now the 2nd best team in the NBA?

If you're going to argue voter fatigue (which isn't a legitimate reason to deny someone an award) then I would say Luka should be #2 because his offensive output this year with his efficiency is ridiculous. For an NBA guard to be on pace for the 2nd best PER in NBA history while having the #1 offensive RAPTOR score, #2 WAR is ridiculous.

I would argue that a healthy Embiid should be #3 in this debate, he's been top 5 by most available advanced metrics we have. Then i would round it up with Durant #4 and Giannis #5.

  4. Giannis had multiple MVP moments at the end of last season, and it was irrelevant.

  5. NBA Is deep into "first ever""first since"..hence Jokić could win triple MVP..first since Bird ect .

  6. Tatum literally has the highest plus minus in the league rn, Boston aint #1 without him.

  7. I feel this is ruining the game to some respect. We're so focused on whose best we can't just appreciate the level of parity in the league

  8. They’re gonna pass over Donny the spida just like they did his rookie year and every year since when rating the young superstars. They’ve always erroneously left him out of best players under 25. But he has help now

  9. It’s a few things going on. Players getting more talented and smarter while rules are getting much more particular. More threes, better shooters now, more space faster game. It’s literally a whole different game than Wilt’s era can’t even compare the 2. 30 in this Era is not that Crazy

  10. I've never cared for betting, and hate its proliferation in sports. That aside, JJ has a great podcast.

As to this year's MVP race, it's almost impossible to choose. If you asked me who the best player is, currently, I can go with any of Doncic, Jokic, Giannis and Embiid – with veterans KD, Lebron, Steph and (when healthy) AD right there. Add to them, Tatum, Mitchell, Ja and Possibly SGA, and…wow! My frontrunners are probably Luka and Nikola, but all these guys are essentially worthy.

  11. I feel like it’s gotta be Giannis. He’s averaging 32 12 and 5 while being a top 3 defender in the league. He’s carried the bucks to the second seed in the stacked east alone, since Middleton has been out all year and jrue has played half the games at most. Without Giannis the bucks wouldn’t even be in the playoffs this year so far.

  12. Devin Booker scored 70 in only 4 quarters and has had a finals appearance but because his team is awful he will never get the shine he deserves

  13. Gotta give it to Joker when you look at all of his stats and current win share. He is next level but Luka is a close second followed by Giannis, KD, & Tatum in my opinion

  14. On Wilt's 2 assists: scorers are much generous with giving out assists I think today. Take Tatum's tenth assist from the triple-double against the Mavs. Getting an assist on that bucket by DWhite was extremely generous interpretation of the rules for an assist.

  15. As Doc Rivers likes to say: Availability is the best ability. That should matter in the MVP vote. And that's why we need to stop looking at averages and start looking at totals for scoring champs, assist leaders, blocks, everything.

  16. Jokic, KD, Giannis, Tatum, and Kyrie will be the last 5…Joel won’t stay healthy. Memphis is a couple years off so Ja can’t win it. KD will win it this year cuz no way the league will be ok with giving Jokic 3 straight MVPs and not Lebron back in 2011…no way. The nets will more than likely be the 1 seed and kD will be averaging 30 on dam near 60% shooting. Giannis will get DPOY. Screenshot this

  17. What about Giannis ? He has to do it without his 2nd best and 3rd best most of the time. The only one who is consistent on the defense AND offense is Giannis. Not saying he's leading the mvp race but I'm worried because he always gets underrated

  18. It's too early, next two months are crucial, right now I'm giving to Luka, he's dragging a mediocre Dallas team into the playoffs

  19. man i cant even pick who should be left out in the all star starter lineup between KD, Tatum, Embiid or Giannis let alone MVP pick 💀

  20. Alot of guys are gonna feel robbed this year it used to be a clear cut solid 3 guys that stood from the rest now its like a legit 10-12 mvp candidate's

  21. Someone please talk about the rules changes! That has to be a factor . Secondly I keep hearing offensive schemes are so much more complex, literally everything is predicated of ball screens/pick & rolls and isolations. Teams really hate to double team players. Sh!t is wild.

Also no talks about defense, MVP race is strictly looked at as offensive because if it wasn’t Giannis should be at the top and KD should be higher.
