Detroit Pistons Have The Worst Defense In The NBA, Changes Have To Be Made At The Deadline

The Detroit Pistons took on the San Antonio Spurs in the battle of who is the worst defense in the league, with the Pistons winning the battle convincingly ina bad loss in San Antonio. With Adrian Wojnarowski reporting it’ll be a seller’s market at the deadline, the Pistons need to make a change soon to; this wing rotation isn’t sustainable and they need an influx of defense if they plan on competing next season when Cade Cunningham returns.

  1. I don't know if there are stats on this, but there can't be another team that misses as many "bunnies" and lay-ups as does the Pistons. If they don't miss, they often enough are blocked. Some can be excused as rookie mistakes, but it is a general team disease.

Also why not start Alec Burks? In today's basketball at least one of the starting guards has to be a really good shooter! Pistons start none. And Alec can also handle the ball and drive. Our starting guards are also turn-over prune. Let Jaden for at least some time come from the bench. It might do him good. The Pistons are in for the long haul, but need some success along the way.

  2. I thought that Cavs/Pistons game was worse it looked like someone was playing 2K on easy the way the Cavs were busting up the Pistons. As for trades, trade Boban because he probably has more value and the Pistons probably can get a draft pick and a young player from a team that's title or bust.

  3. Bojan has to go please 🙏🏾 he does NOTHING but tries to score no defense no rebounding doesn’t pass omg I wanna strangle him sometimes… Saddiq is a close 2nd! Diallo plays ZERO D as well smh omg so frustrating I’m tired we look like a juco team 🤦🏽‍♂️!!!!!!!

  4. The Bojan vs Bey argument has been going on all season. They are not a good fit together on the court with or without Cade. Get a good power forward and move Stew to the bench. Ivey for sure off the bench. Go Pistons!

  5. I dunno it just looked like a tank no energy game to me 🤷🏽… what’s the go with Kevin Knox just riding the bench? I like Bojan on this team moving forward. Depending on how the draft goes he could end up as a 6th man so I would say goodbye to Burks and keep Bey/Bojan for another season

  6. CoJo washed. Casey needs to stop playing him. Leave him on the bench and make a coach.

Bogey views himself as Doncic on this team. The young guys look up to him. At this stage in his career and on this team, Bogey has buckets and resting on defense on his mind. Another thing, I’m sick of him complaining to the refs. Just play!!

If it’s a choice between Bogey and Bey, trade Bogey and develop the young guy. Bogey isn’t going to give us more than he has. I don’t expect defense from him and I (sadly) don’t expect Casey to hold him accountable.

I was happy to see Ivey and Hayes play over 30 minutes and shoot nearly 58% from the floor. I was also super proud to see the way Killian competed.

But I’m beyond done with seeing trash defensive efforts. As bad as we are, we need to be the grittiest team in the league. Our guys should be taking charges, contesting shots, closing down the paint, crashing the boards, winning every 50/50 battle for possessions…but they aren’t.

I believe Casey and his staff are teaching. I just don’t believe guys are executing or embracing what should be the identity of this team.

    A change is coming…

  7. Te game was awful. It was even worse when Killian was sitting. It’s like he’s the only one trying to defend

  8. Casey has got to GO! The Pistons are not even competitive most nights. They’re are unwatchable! Weaver needs to have the guts to fire Casey!

  9. The defense is embarrassing and Casey isn't doing anything about bringing them into a cohesive team. Bogdan and Saddiq must go as they can't guard a newborn puppy. We should get what we can at least for Bogdan while he is valuable to playoff teams.

  10. Oh this shitty team played last night? I think I do remember seeing the score flash during the red wing game but I forgot about even turning it on. I can't stand to watch how this team plays. I was so optimistic about watching the development of these young players and I'm ready to pack it in until next year. It's unwatchable at times.

  11. When you gonna realize Detroit Weaver don't know what the h*** he brought all this garbage and defense defense defense of players that can't play offense hes been a train reck you guys keep kissing his a** Dwayne Casey has nobody to play hes not this bad of a coach's Troy Weaver does not know young talent he is out dated.

  12. Defense is a culture and effort stat if the coach can't motivate these guys to play defense then it's time for a new voice in the room. Understanding the Pistons will not fire Casey and what are the better options available anyway.

  13. I think we need to take a hard look at moving Sadiq and Bojan for OG anunoby, it may cost us a future first but he’s one of few players that can immediately come right in and improve our team defensively and play good offense

  14. What up doe Ku n gang frfr 100 your making some very good points Ku this reminds of when our pistons was transitioning from our bad boys 2.0 n they drafted Day n we still tayshaun i feel you Ku great points again …….

  15. The Spurs without Keldon is a g league team…and Pistons got whooped.
Lowkey I'd call Golden State…Draymond, Kuminga, Wiseman for Bey, Stew, Bagley, Noel, 2nd rd

  16. The Pistons went into this season already having made their minds up to tank. You seen it with this switch everything defense that they were running. The ONLY way to build this team to a contender is thru the draft. Free agency is not what it used to be. Teams are not letting good players go. No high profile free agent is coming to Detroit.

  17. Pistons are young team they need a young coach Toronto had to get rid of Casey then they got their world champion we're no different

  18. I'm a big Killian fan and supported him throughout all the criticism by others because I could see he is a very good defender, great passer, and just a quality true PG. However, I disagree with your take that he was a good defender in this game. Despite getting multiple steals, his overall defense was really poor, and neither he nor Ivey were able to prevent the constant layup drill the Spurs were running. Everyone has off nights and I think this was one of Killian's worst defensive games.

  19. What's up Ku ? Top notch content once again. I gonna go in for a minute. We as Detroit Piston fans and content creators bang our heads against the wall with trade proposals, draft proposals, and in-depth analysis on this team. We seem to be more invested than the organization itself in the success of this franchise. Seems like they don't care. This did not have to be a wasted season. Bey and Bojan can fit together, smart coaches figure this out. Dealing Bojan will set this franchise back years. Tell me what veteran is going to come in and have an impact the way he has ? Where would our scoring come from ?

Do not understand why we did not sign Trevion Williams to the roster, he is the defender we are missing and Golden State has stashed him away on their G league team. Do not understand why we have yet to sign Jordan Usher, who went undrafted out of Georgia Tech. I've been yelling this like the bird in the AFLAC commercial for the longest. This is the player they are missing and God can not make it any easier for the Detroit Pistons to get him. Troy needs to pick up the damn phone and give him a call. The last player I had this gut feeling about was one Dennis Rodman, when no one knew who he was. If you are a true Pistons fan, look up Jordan Usher's highlights on YouTube and tell me if I'm lying.

The answer is not to get younger. The expendables to me are Cade, Bagley II, Noel, and Stewart. Why help these other teams when we will be struggling ourselves. For the life of me, how can we have TWO former Kentucky Wildcats on the roster and they are not in the starting lineups. Diallo and Knox II need to be starters.

Once again, you do NOT deal Bojan, Burks, or Bey. In Colorado, former Piston Bruce Brown is having a huge impact on the Nuggets potential NBA Championship hopes. Once again, you don't deal them.

Deals I would make: Bolster the defense by trading Isaiah Livers and Nerlens Noel to Charlotte for C Nick Richards and Mason Plumlee. Corey Joseph and Rodney McGruder (he deserves this) to the Hawks for PF Onyeka Okongwu and G Vit Krejci. Cade Cunningham and Marvin Bagley III to Orlando for Gary Harris and Wendell Carter Jr. We instantly elevate our defense.

The ball needs to be in Kevin Knox's hand to close out games, stop experimenting with everything. Drafting Victor instead of Armando Bacot will be a repeat of the Jordan/Bowie debacle.

  20. This defense is horrible I think they need a 3 and D guy next season .. Casey might be gone I think
