What exactly is “optimized AD”? Has he also forgotten that AD was playing at an MVP level as a 5, and even with that monster level of play his shot (which he’d need at the 4) hasn’t returned?
I don’t mind suggesting AD goes back to the 4 next to a strong center like Turner mainly to hopefully reduce the risk of injury, but you can’t just forget about everything else that this entails.
Also, the Turner + Hield package requires Westbrook for salary matching, and even with the gazillion flaws in his game it’s clear that we benefit massively from a second floor general (both in terms of actual play and also reducing the load on LeBron). You can’t trade Westbrook away unless you already have a secondary deal lined up for a starter level guard that can create for others. That’s not easy when you’re trading away both your first rounders.
