All of the Portland Trail Blazers Problems On Full Display During 0-3 Road Trip

The Portland Trail Blazers are not very good. Never has that been more clear than during an exhausting and embarrassing 0-3 road trip where two fourth quarter collapses were followed with a turnover-laden face plant. Yeah it’s bad.

11:16 – They had a chance to prove who they were on this road trip and they did: They just aren’t good right now. A team bad enough to lose any game.

23:00 – To close the show we turn to the future. This team needs to make changes but what they do on the court leading up to the trade deadline and what moves they make will determine how we should judge them. The next month will define Portland’s season.

  1. Blazers have nothing to prove. As always, you can dependably count on them not being dependable. They lose games they should win, and occasionally win games where they should've lost. Exactly why I pointed out that the 4-5 buzzer beater wins by 4 different starters were complete luck. Even the best teams don't have that sort of buzzer beater percentage.

  2. There’s a lot of problems on this roster. Need better coaching. Nurk is a mound. Simons can’t defend anyone. Hart can’t shoot. STILL! Let’s go Joe!

  3. Just ugly. They get one, maybe two quarters worth of hunger/desire to win then just no heart no energy no drive as the other teams out hustle them. No trade will help if that’s the culture/vibe in the locker room. Oh well up to Cronin n Billups to figure it out if they’re worth a damn.

  4. Factored into the “40 wins” projection by local and national pundits was a decrease in Dame’s production post injury and the idea that we were getting Denver Nuggets Jerami grant. Instead Dame is the same player he was before the injury “slightly less efficient after this slump” and grant is turning in his best offensive season and is a legit all star level guy. The projections should have been smashed and they still can be, provided this team comes back to reality and moves on from Ant as well as cleans the bench up.

  5. Nearly halfway through the season, and now the league has the Blazer's number. I predicted 43-39 if there wasn't a meaningful trade involving Simons or Lillard by February 9th.

  6. I was not wanting to listen to the fastest recap… I support you so I listened. I'm still hopeful. I'm not sure what's been up with Dame. What's up with GPII? Let's see what happens through trade time. I'm not into a rebuild because I don't like waiting yrs to even make it to the playoffs. I just don't have faith that we can get a better talent than Dame.
Edit: I've never been big on Chauncey so I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

  7. Such a needed, tell it like it really is, episode. The excuses are so tired and played. They will probably beat up in some of these creaky teams at home coming up, but that will only mask the deficiencies.
