I wasn’t the biggest fan of moody upon draft time, but I am still shocked at how bad he’s looked defensively. I went back and watched the arkansas tape and there is a clear culprit… his weight. He is much leaner and wiry in college, which resulted in him being able to press D1 guards full court and genuinely harass them. I think he’s caught in the middle of trying to put on weight to guard bigger wings/forwards, and maybe that is the way to go (I’m obviously not an nba trainer), but it is just jarring to see how quick and smooth he was in college compared to now. He’s never been the fastest or quickest laterally, but there is a clear difference.
