Wait, so he’s not a great three point shooter? Who didn’t know that? “Really impressive by our team that he gets those typa looks”, no the defence literally lets him shoot them, that’s what you do to with bad shooters
Tbh. I think Tre Jones is exactly where he should be in only his 3 year and as a 1st year starter. If you look at Tony Parker's stats from his 3rd year to Tre's, you'll see that the stats somewhat close. He just turned 23 so he there's still room for improvement.
Could be hard getting him to accept going back to a backup role later. Might eventually end up signing elsewhere.
Teams dare him to shoot for 3 because he is terrible, that's why always open shoots
People have to understand that Tre is not a good NBA starting PG. Like yeah he is nice and all but his real role is a energetic backup that doesn't do much damage or helps too much. If he signs a 3-5 million long term contract that will be a great thing for the spurs to have him as a backup/veteran role. But beyond that he cannot defend anyone, his shooting is bad, and he isn't even that amazing of a playmaker. If he's our PG for the future we are not doing anything. I think the Spurs know that cause Primo was the plan, Tre was never going to be more than a backup PG

Tre isn’t coming back next season. If he does, he signs a 2 or 3 year deal for 5-6 mil a year. Blake Wesley and Malaki Branham is gonna take over next year
Jones really strattles the line between being an awesome backup PG and a completely unacceptable starting PG.
Fun Fact, Tre has better stats in his third season than Tony Parker. Unless we get a scoot, I would be totally fine Tre being our permanent PG.
Who cares we’re in tank mode we need those misses! Let tre get better on the 3 ball, he’s a facilitator and damn good at taking it to the rim, he blast past a lot of defenders. He’s obviously not a 3 deep catch n shooter but by next season that should change 🙌
Tre is a backup pg…a really fine pick considering he's a 2nd round pick.
Tre Jones 3 years his doing good but he can get better, Tony Parker in his 3 years was already a good player big difference.
But hopefully if we do get a number one draft pick every other player will look great.
Very proud of TreJ's DEVELOPMENT and COMPETITIVENESS. Not the "purest jump shooter" in the league, but not afraid to shoot it even in clutch situations. He's only 6 feet 1 inches, but I hope we can keep him. Keep it up TreJ. Go Spurs!
Tre is a pure pg. full stop. When he shoots it is because he is wide open, that’s why they look great. Your analysis is pretty poor on this one. Tre doesn’t shoot the three unless they sag off at which point he HAS to shoot it. Tre is absolutely better than dj in some aspects. Assist to turnover is the only stat that really matters for a pg. would be nice if he could knock down more, but as long as he can hit around 30% they still need to come out to the line.
He's clearly working on it, though. The shot was non-existent last year, and now it's just bad. He's improving.

3s are not his game. Getting 10 ppg going coast to coast is his game. Tre needs to study Tony's midrange game
