[Fogg] Watch these clips of Jalen Green operating off handoffs and tell me he doesnt look a different player. The game is simplified for him, reduces decision making. Get the 3pt shot up or attack quick off the catch against a defense out of position. 55% eFG off handoffs this year

I understand needing to practice and get reps for pick and rolls for the long-term but I don’t understand spamming a weakness to the point of being one of the league leaders in attempting pick and rolls (and one of the least effective or worst at executing it). It seems pretty clear what works a lot better (DHO=dribble handoffs).
Jalen has great chemistry with Sengun and off dribble handoffs? Instead lets just let him iso all game and ball hog
Is KPJ an elite off ball shooter and scoring oriented shooting guard? Lets force him into being our on ball PG
Sengun is a great offensive hub and the only player that can consistently do something with the ball in his hands? Lets make him an off ball screener and give the ball to Jalen and KPJ who aren’t even close to as effective
And don’t even get me started on Jabari. Literally can go minutes without touching the ball even when he’s hot. No wonder he launches the first shot he gets and he’s so streaky as a shooter. Shooting is all based on rhythm
Unfortunately, we are in a rough transition period. They are giving the ball more to Jalen to run the point even when Porter is out there. Unfortunately like we have seen before when trying to get offensive 2 guards to play point he isn’t adapting that great to it and often just going in for his own shot off of screen plays when the open man isn’t immediately visible.
We are also seeing Sengun get more touches to try to make something happen. But teams are getting wise to this in the second half and making it impossible for him to take anyone one on one in the paint or get clear passes to other players as they can’t cut into a clogged lane most of the time to help. And to make matters worst almost everyone is taking turns shooting like crap from distance meaning if they can’t get to the paint or rim they are screwed.
Rough good things but hoping this difficulty gives rise to improvements for all our young players.
