There is only one way to end the fan violence, zero alcohol, and that's not gonna happen. This behavior isn't just an embarrassment to the sports world, it's an embarrassment to America. We've become a country that seems to thrive on violence, be it gun violence or drunken fighting, people don't know how to go out and have a good time without acting like animals.
Sounds like we need a fan sport, rules?

every stadium should have home stands and away stands just like in Europe.
It's not just a sports thing, every single time you have this many people (15K to 20K for the NBA) in a relatively small space like a stadium, the potential for violent altercations is already pretty high. I mean, there have been fist fights at demonstration, where people who were demonstrating for the same cause and should've been on the same side threw punches at each other.
No add some degree of animosity between fans of different teams, maybe some frustration because one side is losing and alcohol to the mix and violence becomes even more likely.
