(When comparing MJ/Lebron different players had varying degrees or advantages whatever) as MJ aged the game got slower. More defensive less points less stats. As Lebron has aged the game got easier more possessions more stats more points. Itās not just āin 2002 there was this many possessions and in 2023 thereās that many possessions per gameā that only tells part of the story. The spacing the freedom the open lanes. Defensively Lebron mostly stays guarding whatever big is ānearā the basket or a player that stands in the corner. Every aspect of the game got more difficult as MJ aged – every aspect of the game got easier as Lebron has aged. Thatās a fact

Lebron is like a child in a man's body, and MJ was a man in a man's body. That will always be the difference. Nonetheless, Lebron is one of the greatest to ever play this game, and they are just riding their cash cow to get as much out of him as possible. They did the same thing with Kobe and his "farewell" tour. They cannot perform at the level they once could, but they still draw attention to the NBA. It's a business… that is not Lebrons fault at all. He's just making as much profit as he can, he's living his dream, even if it is a shitshow for real hoop heads. I can go back and watch him play in 2012, and he was the best player in the league playing both ends, he was amazing. He still wasn't MJ, though, but he may be the second best player I have ever seen. It's like this though… MJ—————-2nd best, 3rd best etc. – no one is close and I doubt anyone will ever come close. The situation was perfect for the perfect character to step in, it was a 1 in a 100 years situation. The NBA has to continue to reinvent Superstardom, and that is what they do, it's just Entertainment. If you want to watch real basketball, watch the Euroleague, they play hard as hell. If you want to watch the greatest athletes pull off the most spectacular plays, watch the NBA.
