Miami Heat: Is their effort enough? | Five on the Floor

After an ugly, listless loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, Ethan, Alex and Greg tackle a critical question — do the Miami Heat care enough? Why are all their “hustle” metrics down? Why do they keep losing to undermanned teams? What’s to blame? And how can it be addressed?

  1. As far as Kyle Lowry goes. you paid good money and players. for a dude looking for his last contract.

    Personally I'm not surprised.

As for the heat in general. you think they are, what they are not. They had a lot of dice rolls, in their favor last year. when it came to wins.

  2. Their pt guards outplayed Hero too not just Lowry also were blowing by Dipo , they defensely scorched Hero also, not a fan of Dipo jacking up 3's early in the shot clock , l know he is trying to prove something but not good team basketball , l think Jimmy said it all in his press conference

  3. Pat Riley needs to be replaced by D Wade! Riley’s last big fish was Lebron! Wade convinced Jimmy and possibly Mitchel (whom Riley couldn’t get)

  4. 1st Problem – Kyle Lowry who is our floor general isn’t engaged . He’s too passive & just doesn’t seem to care.

2nd Problem – We got beat in the finals cause of size and here it is 3 years later and Spo continues to Keep Bam at the 5 . We never went after a true 5

3rd Problem – We have put waaay to much stock in these D League, undrafted players. We need better players!!!!

  5. People blaming Erik Spoelstra are flatly wrong.

    1. We’re 8-4 coming in our last 12 games including that horrendous loss, if you wanted to blame Spo, this isn’t the time

    2. Our shooter are not shooting. This isn’t a Spo problem, if anything, this is a front office problem. We are the 24th offensive team in the league, except Herro, all of our shooters has regressed despite Spo consistently scheming open shots

    3. We held our assets and refused to upgrade our roster this off-season with foolish hopes of trading for KD? Or Mitchell?

    4. We have the worst pace in the league despite Spo yelling 20 times a night to push the ball. Kyle Lowry is literally, statistically, the slowest player we have on the roster. He’s moved slower this season than UD

    5. The overreaction to losses are puzzling. This was a bad loss, no doubt, but the idea that it’s impossible to drop a game after going 8-3 is insane. The Celtics just lost to OKC without Shai, let downs are common in literally every sport

  6. In person against the Clippers 1st half & 4th qrt were outstanding. They were sharp & decisive on offense & defense.

Their bad games Jimmy, Bam, Tyler, Kyle, and now Dipo take plays off, both offense and defense.

The last factors: their energy & dirty work players, Caleb & Gabe, are battling injury & Max’s shooting has been bad since the playoffs.

Solution: Jimmy, Bam, Kyle, Tyler, and Dipo have to be locked in to every play for them to win they can’t afford to take plays off or fall asleep.

  7. I don't understand why Spo got away from what was working. He played Dwayne Dedmon which was a mistake and Kyle Lowry in the 4th quarter. He should've played Gabe and Orlando Robinson. And the Lowry move has proven to be a horrible one, that guy is just stealing money and shows no effort most nights. And Not bringing back PJ Tucker was also a huge mistake. This whole being afraid of paying the luxury tax has held this team back this year.

  8. Pat does not need to be replaced. According to his standard his standard he is failing. Every day that passes by Jimmy is 1 year older. Don’t waste his time. Trade him to the lakers for Westbrook cap space, and used it to keep your Robinson, Deadmen and Dipo granted fulfill your wish.

  9. That ending was sooo on point 😂😂 “Suns aren’t playing well the HEAT should Win this 1— but still… @ethanjskolnick
