    “Better care”

Based on what? Does Fred tell the ball a bedtime story before he passes it?

  2. Stats/charts like these border on meaningless. Haliburton being way below Fred discredits this. There’s so many other players on this chart I’d rather have for _just_ their passing ability.

I mean shit, look no further than where GTJ is lol.

I question the passing versatility metric. How is it measured? Could just maybe use assists as the y axis.

I assume passing efficiency is simply a measurement of passes completed divided by passes attempted.

Lies Fred only passes to himself, or so I’m told around here

  5. This has nothing to do with amount of passes, effectiveness of passes (ie leading to a score) or how often one sees the open man, it is simply a measure of how often one throws the ball away and the variety of passes thrown. Fred is actually a very skilled passer, if he had a passers mentality he could average 8 or 9 assists a game. He thinks like a scorer and passes after he has decided not to try to score. Scottie’s play this year has been a good contrast. Scottie looks to pass first then he decides to try to score if nothing is available.

I think we should commit to Point Scottie because it is clearly his nature to be a passer first. We could deal Fred and some some bench players to LA (who are rumoured to be interested) for a couple of their guard like Reaves, Nunn, Schroeder, Christie and/or Pat Bev. Pat Bev is annoying on another team but he is a defensive specialist, a vet and fits the mold of this team having to start his career outside of the NBA. I like Max Christie as a young bench piece as well.

Last year, Fred was constantly posted to be in the upper right on the shooting accuracy charts.

History tells us Fred will become one of the worst passers in the NBA next season.

Fred’s reputation as a chucking SG is so wrong. Of course he chucks up shots but he’s also very capable of passing the rock. The thing is, his height and limited interior offense means he can’t do everything there as well as a bigger guy. IMO he’s best as a backup PG overall and the secondary ballhandler in the starting unit. He should rarely be the one initiating the play in the half court but he’s an excellent next option in a play and he’s generally good in transition. But the reason he has to be aggressive with the shot is to draw defenders to the perimeter too because he’s not a major driving threat.

I’m sorry but this metric is pretty shit. Where’s Jokic? Lebron? These guys should be at the top of efficiency and versatility.

I would make the argument that both FVV and CP3 (at this stage in his career) are actually very non versatile passers

I love hoe this fan base when seeing these charts if it doesn’t fit their narrative make excuses, but when it does then it suits them just fine
