Try some unprotected firsts if you want Dougie Buckets

This is a trade that makes sense in a vacuum, but the spurs just don’t need or want Caris, even if it’s fair value. Better off finding a third team to take caris and they gives the spurs young assists or a protected first or two.

  3. Value wise it’s fine, but it makes no sense for the Spurs. LeVert would not be a long term piece for us. Richardson and Mcdermott won’t be either, but they are entrenched on this team already. JRich especially has been a great leader for us.

From a value standpoint, this is actually pretty solid. If the Spurs had any intention of improving, I think this trade would make sense for both teams. However, as currently constituted caris levert essentially is a zero value in this deal since there’s no way San Antonio would attempt to resign him and he doesn’t bring anything really in the long term of note the rest of the year for a heavy rebuilding team.

So you’re essentially trading McDermott and Richardson, who have been playing really, really good basketball as a whole and particularly the last month Plus, for two second round picks that are likely to be very late pics. I would not do it as a GM and I’m sure the Spurs wouldn’t either.

Nah. Not interested in Levert and 2nd rounders mean next to nothing.

  6. Don’t see why this would be an attractive deal for the spurs. They don’t need a player like Levert on the roster right now. Cap space isn’t an issue so Levert’s expiring contract isn’t as valuable to us as it would be to other teams. Lastly those 2nd round picks would more than likely be in the 40’s and hold little value

Levert obviously doesnt do anything for the spurs this season and two SRPs are practically nothing. not worth it

I’d rather just keep McDermott than do this trade.

Switch those worthless 2nd rounds to a FRP instead and we’ll talk.

I love Doug McBuckets and josh, but honestly those picks looking nice, and Caris ain’t bad either.

So the spurs basically getting pick 50+ in a couple upcoming drafts? No way.

Doug and Josh are only on the roster right now to package with Jakob for FRPs.

    Spurs aren’t settling for seconds.

Switch out caris with Donovan Mitchell or Mobley and those second round picks with first rounds and then I think maybe the spurs would be interested.

I’m sorry you seem to be confused not looking to get better this year 😏

I think we would do two 2RP’s for one of those guys, but not for both.

I think if you can change them to one FRP, even if we have to include one of our non-Spurs 2RPs, then that will probably make it happen. (But I’m not sure what you have left to move).

No one really cares about 2nd rounders and dough and rich are vets who can both shoot lights out from 3s which is the biggest commodity in the NBA around the trade deadline because they fit in anywhere. Caris adds nothing to a tanking team and isn’t locked up past this year so overall honestly this is an F- just don’t see anything at all spurs would want for even one of their guys let alone BOTH 😅 Doug and rich will be moved but for at least 1 low 1st rounder included and a lot of contenders would happily give up a bottom 20s first to bring in 1 or 2 vets who can slide In and instantly contribute. If cavs have a 1st this could work

  15. Imaginary-Cycle-1977

We’re looking for young guys and better picks

  16. balla_mang

Not a chance. Need some 1st round picks. Your team may be amazing for a long time. We need multiple 1sts

  17. Fair Value Trade, just doesn’t make sense with Spurs current roster personnel and timeline. This trade doesn’t go through unless a FRP is attached or 3rd team is added.

  18. We are in no need of either Caris nor SRPs. McDermott, JRich, and Jakob are considered our best trading material and getting rid of 2 of them without a good return would be a huge disappointment.
