PBJ’s dad is a coach, his mom was a 6’2″ volleyball star in college.
In April 2021, when PBJ hurt his ankles in HS and was still deciding between playing for his Dad or Duke, his mom learned she had breast cancer and kept it from him to not influence his decision.
During college in his miserable season, still injured, he couldn’t see his mom b/c her health was so delicate but felt good to be near her just in case – she would come and sit far from everyone in the stadium so they could see her.

Though she underwent another surgery last month and still takes medicine daily, she has felt good enough to visit San Francisco multiple times and see just how well Patrick has acclimated to pro life.”**
