[Rader] Mark Cuban via email to the artist who did the ‘Please send help’ Luka mural in Dallas: “It’s disrespectful. But it’s your choice to do what you want. If that’s the way you want to be a fan. Go for it.”

>“It’s disrespectful,” Cuban wrote in an email to Pannek, which the artist shared with Mavs Moneyball. “But it’s your choice to do what you want. If that’s the way you want to be a fan. Go for it.”

>Pannek says he has been a die-hard Mavs fan since 2000. His concern is that the front office isn’t doing everything possible to build a championship contender, and he doesn’t want to see Doncic’s talent squandered. So, when Cuban reacted that way after he reached out to him, Pannek said he was taken aback.

>“I find it an odd way that he handled the emails the way that he did,” Pannek said. “He could have easily just invited me down to a game and talked about this if he was really that upset that he seems to be. But he took it a different way.”

>“I was hoping he would be the kind of person that would see like, ‘Oh shit, the fans really are upset,’” Pannek said of Cuban. “People really want Luka to get some help. I thought he would take that and go get the help, but it doesn’t look like that’s how this is going to work out.”

Man who is being criticized by mural is not pro-mural

“If that’s the way you want to be a fan” bro every team fan wants to win, why else would he paint that

  3. Seems to me like Cuban is offended that people think they aren’t trying to get Luka help

Okay okay I know we think Cuban is fumbling Luka’s prime and everything but did this guy just ask for free tickets for dissing the ownership? Lol

  5. BabaBrody

“He could have just invited me to a game” kills me.

It always astonishes me that some people seem to think not being aboard 100% with everything the team does equals being a fake fan. Like, fair enough, if you are within an org it might ruffle your feathers, but there are more than enough fans who take that approach.

  7. KyleShanaham

He wants to get invited to a game, presumably Courtside with the billionaire owner, for painting a mural? Lol who does this guy think he is

  8. Yesboi227

I wanna be a billionaire soon so I can buy mavs from Cuban and save lukas prime

  9. kyle_kaufman

Wanted to get invited to the game??! He’s not wrong Luka needs helps but cmon dude. Also, there’s like 20 diff Mavs murals around town this isn’t like some ground breaking artform to be invited courtside for.

I have no problem with the mural, but it’s hilarious that this dude thought “Luka needs help” was the kind of insight that was gonna earn him a sit-down chat with Cuban.

Can we talk about how shit the painting is ? Lol. Looks like Luka’s face was stung by a bee and then turned Hispanic.

I was with this guy until the “He could have invited me to a game to talk about it” line.

  13. Ok, so this guy is a doofus. Cuban actually took the time to respond to him, didn’t say anything disrespectful, simply stated his opinion, and Pannek’s response is “I just don’t get why he didn’t invite me to sit courtside to talk about it”

Seriously, what fantasy world does this goober live in?

  14. PumpkinHead555

He took it to heart because he know it’s true lol. Yeah Cuban, it’s disrespecting to *you* and the shitty team you put around a star player

  15. NHartline

This clown probably doesn’t need attention anymore. Shitty mural paired with begging the owner for tickets to a game after you just dissed him is peak clown behavior

It’s not disrespectful to any players at least directly, I’m sure most players would agree that the team could use another star.

  17. He expected a positive response (and a personal invite?) for art that goes at ownership and, more importantly, throws the rest of the players under the bus? What kind of message does that send to the rest of the locker room if Cuban positively responds to this guy and pampers him with a personal invite to the arena, tix, etc.? “Please send help” is not even particularly clever or that constructive. What did the artist expect Cuban to do–ohhhh, shit, I hadn’t thought about gettting help for Luka, we should do that, great suggestion! Cuban knows the temperature of the fanbase. He’s the most involved owner in the league. People always be wanting shit from others.

My guy just asked for an all-inclusive 3-day trip from the owner he just dissed.

  19. midtownmikeatlphilly

so he was expecting Cuban’s respone to be “Wow! Mavs management and myself had not thought to get Luka help until we saw your mural, thanks showing us the light, here’s a ticket to an upcoming as token of our appreciaton.”

  20. Artsky32

Mark cuban will deadass respond to your email if you send him something important. I asked him how to escape poverty when I was 17 and he gave me a bunch of helpful tips

It’s disrespectful what you did to Dirk’s teams after that title and what you’ve given Luka the first 5 years of his career, Cuban. Luka is running his body into the ground and can’t even take a rest day because it’s an automatic L for his team. 0-5 this year when he sits, and like 2-7 when he doesn’t score at least 30. That’s on YOU, not the artist calling it out.
