EG really sucks and/or wants to go. We were -21 with him tonight, while guys who started the game with hjm like sengun and JG were in positive.
I liked Sengun’s minutes but we rarely involved him In the game other than Q1. Rest of the game everyone tried to put their own show on. His body language looked defeated as if he knew they were not going to pass him much anyway
JG did great but he needs to be more selective with his 3s. There were some really unnecessary forced shots when he had other guys available.
Whenever we tried to move the ball more than 3 guys (which was rare), we found open shots and 3s. Dont understand why we cant do that more often
Last but not least, our team defense really sucks. Every game some random player beats their career record against us

Shooting efficiency for young guards comes and goes. That is normal. But shot selection and defense are somehow much easier to manage. I don’t see much improvement tonight, though(at least during the part of the game I watched). And this part can be improved fast by the coaching staff and vets.
The hornets is maybe the worst perimeter defense team in the league. Green is expected to do well, though.

Jalen had a great game, but his shot selection was awful as usual. Those will always be low percentage shots on the long run. He needs to fix his shot selection if otherwise his contribution won’t be sustainable.

The offence looked much better with better ball movement and fewer possessions where someone just held the ball waiting for something to happen. Green especially had much better shot selection, aside from a few possessions.
Defence was terrible though, seems like the formula to get a bucket against the rockets is to get a ball handler on Green, get the man Sengun is defending to set a screen and then just drive it to the rim.
I believe once Green develops some muscle he has serious potential. I would say some of his major weaknesses are his inability to fight through screens and getting too easily put off balance when driving leading to a bad shot, which gaining some muscle should solve.

So it was a bad game and a lot of players weren’t playing well. Majorly side eyeing Gordon for his poor performance. He’s got no excuse.
Like is this the same team that pushed hard against the Lakers? It didn’t look like it.
Being closer to the floor I was surprised just how much conversation and court talk I could hear. Sengun was upset from pretty early on and it’s not a surprise. He’s calling, practically begging his teammates to help him out / pass to him.
At one point GÜN was in the paint, swamped by 4 Hornets and the other rockets were just like standing back like they were waiting for him to maybe pass it to them for a three. But just no effort.
The lack of defense was bad. I mean I know it’s usually bad but it was so apparent today. It was interesting to see Charlotte who were fighting for the ball every chance they got. Like the Rockets kept looking stunned that Charlotte was stripping the ball off them. Like yeah maybe you could try to steal it sometimes. Or maybe you should be more aware when you pass.
Oof. This is one I thought might be winnable for us but it felt like earlier on they were (most of them, can’t say sengun) content to play sloppy and let Charlotte dominate.
