Alperen dribbling coast to coast is the most efficient (83.3%) shot choice in Rockets

This is quite weird for a center but Alpie seems to be extremely efficient 7+dribbles shots (83.3%) and very early shots (76,9%).

He seems to be almost twice more efficient than Jalen (45.1%) and KPJ (42.5%) in fast breaks.

I think he should initiate fast breaks more often.

  1. Ngl this is a crazy cool stat LOL. Imagine trying to defend a dude of his size and finesse dribbling right at you while 2-3 super fast guards like KPJ Jalen and KJ are running alongside him like a flying V

In an interview, his first basketball coach talked about this. He said “Alperen was the team’s tallest player. He was a center. But I didn’t want him to just rebound or play like a center. I wanted him to be able to dribble, shoot, and easily play each position. His fundamentals were therefore strong and well-established. When he got the rebound, I told him to dribble the full court.”

alpi is one baffling fella, he is laterally slow, then he makes an incredibly quick post move, once you think he is non-athletic, then he posterizes ppl left and right, when you think he has a goofy run, he dribbles it coast to coast. lol, my man alpi.

Those are the only times we are running a play that somewhat resembles a fast break, so it makes sense in that regard.
If you pay attention to our defensive rebounds, Sengun mostly boxes out the center and lets his teammates grab the boards. That’s why his defensive and offensive rebound averages are so close. When everyone stays that close to the rim to grab the boards, there is no time to make necessary runs at the open court.

Does this account for turnovers where shot attempts don’t go up?
