Flirting: Vaughn throws Ben Simmons under the bus

Harassment: Doc Rivers throws Ben Simmons under the bus

  2. lets_talk_basketball

Finally. Especially with KD hurt, they need him to show some real production.

  3. bossman757

At what point does Ben, unfortunately, belong under the bus? He’s been coming up small time and time again.

Glad his back seems to be better, but it generally sucks that we probably will never see him reach the full potential we saw seasons ago. As a fan of the sport (and a Sixers fan), it sucks knowing what could’ve been if it weren’t for both his mentality and injury issues.

Low threshold for throwing someone under the bus.

    OP with the clickbait title.

    Here we go

Ben Simmons: out with mental health assignment

  6. shadowarmy229

Bruh he finna take another mental health break again and ask for a trade lol

  7. ScandalousSocialist

Imagine he just comes out and says “Fuck it I’m doing me”, takes control of the offense completely and realises that he had it in him all along. BenDisney.

  8. gigglios

He just sucks. Fine as a role player on limited min but max contract is jokes. He out up decent numbers in philly during times there was 0 pressure or expectations but sucks bad otherwise especially in the slow down half court game which is all of what the playoffs are

Sixers should be singing even if they never win a title or get past the 2nd rd. To get harden by giving up 0 is insane

  9. CoryGotLean

Those triple singles really wearing him down

  10. I don’t think a coach calling out a player who regularly commits too many fouls to commit less fouls is very controversial. I would hope Simmons could take this as intended.

  11. dead-serious

can we just call a spade a spade and say he was extremely overhyped for a long time

the #1 pick status, all-NBA honors, max contract, etc

  12. asmara1991man

Ben Simmons should just medically retire from mental health issues

  13. brucewayne1935

I hate the Nets, but I love Jacque Vaughn. He came in and hasn’t taken shit from anyone. He’s my COTY

  14. PolarBearLaFlare

Lol there were people in the Ben Simmons coat thread yesterday saying people are “obsessed” with Ben Simmons. No, it’s not obsessive to point out that he is playing no where near his expectations and contract. He sucks right now.

  15. rahbee33

    >Simmons has failed to replace any of Kevin Durant’s scoring load with the superstar out due to a knee injury.

Lol what a weird line in the article. Literally nobody expected that.

  16. TurbulentJudge1000

That’s not throwing him under the bus. He sucks for the contract he’s being paid.

The real issue with Simmons is he doesn’t love basketball, but he loves the lifestyle it provides. He’s made zero effort to improve his game and never switched shooting hands to try and get better.

He might actually try and change the year he’s up for an extension, but by then, it’ll be too late. He’s worth $10 million a year at this point and borderline unplayable come playoff time. He’s no longer a top tier defender, so it’ll be interesting how he does against teams in the playoffs.

Ben doesn’t have to be a great shooter. He just has to make the defense worry about him shooting. Since he can’t shoot, it’s basically 4-on-5 every game. He can’t be scared of going to the foul line either. The impressive thing about Giannis is that he doesn’t change his strategy. He may miss 5 FT’s in a row but he is always going to be aggressive.

  18. I haven’t seen the full quote, but how the fuck is this throwing someone under the bus?
He needs to stay out of foul trouble, they need him in the game, especially without KD. It’s that simple

  19. lum1nous013

Kindly reminder that the Nets essentially traded 7 FRP ( 3 picks / 4 swaps) Jarret Allen and Caris Levert to get Ben Simmons (and Seth, Seth is decent)

  20. Shenanigans80h

It’s so dumb that people think holding someone accountable publicly is throwing someone under the bus. When I hear “throw under the bus” I think someone deflecting blame and criticizing unfairly. Whether this is a deflection or not, this is absolutely valid criticism worded in a fair way.

  21. Sad_Classroom_6428

Holding someone accountable is not throwing them under the bus

  22. OutsidePrior2020

You know Ben already on the phone demanding a trade.

  23. PetalumaPegleg

The man has more fouls than FG on the year, seems a legit criticism.

  24. Mygaffer

That’s not throwing someone under the bus.

This sub is so weird about Ben Simmons.
