what y’all think abt this trade. NY gives Mavs a first + Reddish in exchange for Josh Green. Mavs use that first, one they alr have, 2 seconds + Timmy to get OG. Then in the off season mavs sign DFW native Myles turner. Starting five this year would be: Spence Luka OG DFS Wood. Next year: Luka OG DFS Wood Turner. Thoughts?

Trade idea for the Mavs :
Raptors receive : Hardaway + Hardy + 2 first round picks
Mavs receive : OG
Starting 5 : Luka – Bullock (for his defense) – OG – DFS – Wood
Bench : Dinwiddie – Josh Green – Kleber and they make trade for a wing (someone like Barton) and trade for a rim protector (or sign Hassan Whiteside who's pretty good for a back up for that role)
OG is literally a perfect fit with Luka , he's only 25 years old, has 3 years left in his contract and looks like he's available for trade discussions.
Luka deserves more help. He has the worst team of any star in the league except LeBron and it's not that close. It's really an obstacle to his greatness. He would be viewed completely different if his team could win more.

Mavs, all you need to do is get Siakam or Derozan. Then add Nerlens Noel, Caruso and Dragic to deepen the rotation. C Wood, Dinwiddie, and Dodo are playing great already… just add one superstar who plays defense and great at off-ball offenses, and you’ll have a chance to win a chip. Don’t waste Luka’s talent.

Luka is incredible but the Mavs have to be careful here, they don’t have a war chest of assets to make a trade. If they make a poor rushed trade they could have no future and lose Luka in free agency. Don’t wanna see them in a similar situation as the Lakers or the 2017 Cavs.
The media loves to push the Luka needs help narrative but the issue is no one wants to play with him. They tried with Kristaps Porzingis and that didn't work and Brunson left to join the Knicks for less money. You also don't hear players asking to play with Luka.
