It’s the same shit every fourth quarter. Trae playing hero ball

  2. Witty-Conclusion4349

Best passer can’t pass if he can’t see bitch

  3. muckspouts

When Glasses wasn’t on the clipboard for the second to last possession, it was over. Nate can’t put anything quality on the court. Forget about not having Trae inbound the ball. We don’t learn our lessons.

  4. johnhenryc

Imagine a world in which we didn’t consistently lose to the worst teams in the league.

  5. TheKing012

I’m kind of sort of starting to feel like we just aren’t that good against the Hornets. that play-in win was clutch but pretty sure this isn’t the first time they snapped a winning streak from us. also 2 of their 13(?) wins are from us lol

  6. Matt_Smiths_fanboy

Worst part is Nate will now never ever challenge a call unless its in the last 20 seconds of a game

  7. 1_airforce_1

can we make this milk DUD unemployed yet….get your stupid ass off this team, it’s infecting others

  8. MonadoboiXen

They always get me excited just to take a steaming pile of shit the next game. Classic Hawks

  9. That second half by the Hawks was an absolute travesty.

  10. Unsungruin

This team is so hard to root for man. Every time it starts to look good, they disappoint. It’s like an abusive relationship lmao

  11. LegendaryIam

Loss for humility. Sucks but whatever. I just don’t know why JJ or someone wasn’t doing the inbound.

  12. Aardvark-0001

Ok maybe an unpopular opinion… but looking at a few plays there where Trae ISOs there is literally no movement anywhere on the court… and then Trae takes the shot… there are multiple places where Trae ISOs in and passes the ball to a player that gets free of his defender…
Not saying Trae didn’t blow in this game but considering the full picture this is just our lack of offensive movement and tiredness coming through… players have to be moving and creating opportunities for Trae to pass the ball.
Another thing is DJM and his lack of passing … he doesn’t pass 90% of the time he gets into the paint … he will shoot that mid ranger … he’s been shooting lights out but it showed in the fourth.
We need some designed offensive schemes for these guys to run with muscle memory when they are dead on their feet … and imo that’s what happened here Trae was tired and reverted back to his old playing style …

JJ should’ve never been on the floor.

AJ should’ve never come out. He was red hot.

Trae should’ve never been in iso playing his usual hero ball bullshit that never goes anywhere.

Trae should’ve never been inbounding (again and again this happens)

Nate. Bottom line. A bitch. Certified. Please depart this fine city so we can untangle this fucksalad and finally play to our potential.

1 bad half don’t care. Lots of games left

  15. Sammcbucketts

This isn’t getting discussed but JC was dreadful on defense tonight, he just doesn’t have the lateral quickness to hand with a forward who can dribble like PJ Washington.

  16. Matt_Smiths_fanboy

Our constant iso ball is partially Trae and DJ’s fault, but most of the blame has to go to Nate and his (lack of) scheme. If you want any proof, just look at what Bogi has been doing with the ball in his hands this year

  17. Exciting-Corner-6996

im mad because we lost our streak to the hornets wtf

  18. I’m not even mad bc I already had this one circled as an L going into it.

It looked to have all the makings of textbook trap game from a mile away – second night of a back-to-back, playing against a lesser team with their star player injured, coming off a 5-game win streak against top teams, team comes in appearing to be firing on all cylinders.

Like it may as well just have been standing there in a comically large mustache and poncho, repeatedly insisting in a badly-faked Mexican accent that it’s name is Jose and it’s just another normal game like all the other regular games.

Sometimes that’s just how it goes, but I still feel good about this team going forward. They’re finally healthy for the time being, but more importantly finally starting to flash some chemistry and that’s something that’s only going to keep improving as the season goes on.

  19. Some thoughts on tonight’s game. We lost to the Hornets that was missing LaMelo Ball and Kelly Oubre. We let Plumelee and Rozier go off and we have up a 19 point lead. There is no reason we shouldn’t be able to manage a lead to a depleted Hornets team.

I thought Trae jacked up some bad shots in the fourth quarter including an air ball. I was enjoying the way Trae was playing during the win streak and I don’t like that we went back to iso ball and bad shots.

I think Nate was dumb for taking AJ out of the game when he scored 10 points in the 4th quarter.

I’m not mad at the Jalen Johnson sub for the final possession. I think Jalen is a good defensive player and it was a good decision. If Jalen had more experience perhaps he wouldn’t have fouled there.

At the timeout after the first inbounds play, where we failed to inbound the ball, Nate should have immediately subbed in Jalen Johnson. He saw they were putting Plumelee on Trae. They showed him how they were setting the defense and Nate failed to respond. That said Trae should have at least been able to get the ball in for a shot in two tries.

All of that led to a disappointing loss

  20. blingera

i hope the team is encouraging JJ to keep his head up because he didn’t do a gotdamn thing wrong

  21. aFAKElawyer-

That call was so weak, I feel like in past years refs were much more hesitant to give a team a game-winner at the FT line

  22. We need to have our players practice how not to foul these 3 point shots. JJ, Dre, and even Huerter would foul on so many 3pt shots.

  23. givemesome1ce1

So the things that cost us the game were:

    -Terrible rim protection

-ISO ball from Trae and Dejounte especially down the 4th (mainly from Trae)

    -Lack of ball movement

Capela and Onyeka were bad, Dejounte was good, Hunter was great, and AJ should’ve played the rest of the 4th quarter imo. A lot of this could come down from our players being really tired after 6 games in 9 days, but this is still an incredibly disappointing loss. Hopefully we get another streak going.

Also that last three point foul against Rozier shouldn’t have been a foul at all, they will point that out in the L2M. So Refs may have cost us a game.

  24. blingera

i’ve never known, what are the implications of the L2M report? do referees get consequences?

  25. Leading-Opportunity7

It’s the NBA teams lose, I’m just mad we went back to the shitty habits of that long downturn we had. Maybe the team just being exhausted caused them to go to what was most firmly imprinted in their brain. I’ll hold off judgement until Mondays game.

(The second half was complete dogshit, which is definitely an indicator of tired legs)

  26. crimedog69

Tbh we alllll knew we’d prob lose those one. I think we can still get the 5/6 seed though. Like how we’ve looked

  27. Defiant_Gear4524

Think about why the Hawks always struggle in the 4th quarter. The trae lowers the tempo in the 4th quarter when there are 4 minutes of game time left. And rather than creating refined open opportunities, he insists on stupid shots when he plays his own iso. To improve this, play the 4th quarter at the same tempo as you did in the 1st quarter. When trae creates an open chance for aj, he can get through the rim.

  28. PerfectCandy

Anyone know where I could watch the post game interviews for free?

  29. Radimov79

I’m sorry to say this but Trae’s last quarter ruined the game for us.

  30. datasxienxe

Terry Rozier kicked his leg out on almost every three pointer. For one it’s not only dangerous, it’s just unethical. This dude shouldn’t be in the league.
