How do you feel about Alperen Sengun's defense?
I think Rockets will decide weather build around Sengun or not after drafts on June.
Jokic had the same defensive issues as alpi bc in eurobasket you can play harder as then in the nba … sometimes its so funny to see the babycalls the refs in nba doing… alperen need time to adept to there like jokic .. wemby will have the same issues when he is there

In a league full of lightning-quick, speedy, & athletic jump out the gym guards. Is it his defense, or lack of speed? You can get better at defense, but not so much with speed!
I’m just into them this season. There have been plenty of other losing seasons that have kept me entertained but this season has just been difficult to watch. I just don’t feel any player progression from these guys and I’m not as excited about the future of this team. We absolutely need to win this draft.
Sengun was in position to play defense against Anthony Edwards both times. A center is a rim protector the last line of defense. He was exposed last game without question. For the majority of the season it's been pretty much a layup drill for opposing teams

Basketball is one of the most team games ever. If one lacks the team collapses on both ends of the floor. Look at Alpy's block numbers lately; 2,2,3,2,3,4. 3 blocks a game is bad? Now come on. He is leading almost the Nba on offensive reboınds. Isn't that a defence parameter? The narrative over Alperens's bad defence is not completely true. He needs to develop. OK. He is willing to defend. What about KPJ EG and especially JG own defence. They are terribly lazy which makes Houston paint like a free highway through Sengun. He is still standing his ground. And as I said 3 blocks a game lately after KPJ's injury. So he is not there yet but who says his defence bad or awful, is an idiot on both eye test and according to the numbers that Ben gave on this podcast. 20 points difference when he is absent 6 points net rating. Now come on people. He is not a hidden gem. He is a treasure to be processed in order to gain team progress.
If I'm Jalen Green hearing this talk about building around Sengun. He should immediately asking for a trade!

Alperen has a solid foundation of fundamentals and is very coachable, I've seen improvement and expect that to continue. One thing forgotten is Alpi's aggression and efficiency forcing the oppo to adjust or sit their best defenders with fouls. Ex Rox Jim Peterson(TWolves color) is the most recent to echo the praises of the young man.
Since KJ Martin is a restricted free agent at the end of the season, I would add him to any EG trade.
I think Jalen should fake an injury and sit out next game. So we can behold SENGUNS dominance over the league lol
Sengun is not a bad defender in my option he always trying it’s only so many time jalen or a perimeter player get blown by and telling sengun to block every thing jalen and kpj have gotten 40 droped on them more then sengun giving up 20 plus to one of the superstar centers
I got to say something positive about locked on Rockets. With all my opinions and they are just that my opinions. They never once censored me, & has a die hard Rockets fan I appreciate that🙏🏿‼️
He is actually a pretty good rim protecter this season and offseason needs to be work on the conditioning he has improved tremendously on it from last year
Rockets is the most incompetent and futile NBA team. We missed on all our lottery picks except Sengun who is insanely overrated because he plays on a horrible team. Just absolutely abysmal.

If we want to compare him to some of his older contemporaries (Jokic, Sabonis) they weren't exactly world beaters on the defensive end either. They grew into their role and found out what works for them. Give the kid some time to figure out his strengths. Also having competant defenders around him will obviously help as well.

I don't think the Houston coaches are helping sengun. Houston coaches don't have any plans for physical development and defensive skills. their training for young players is poor. They dont have a plan for players physical development. No increase in muscle mass. can appear on this screen. a good Coach would have increased the physical capacity of the sengub long time ago with the right training

Im sorry this comment may sound sharp for many but IMO all organisation goes a bit racist toward ALP. 1- ref are calling everything that they wont call for a national player 2- he s not bad at defense, who s bad are kpj and jg, they are not at all defending and ALP is still young to cover them, they allow opponent guards to penetrate so easy. 3- ALP is the only rockets player who knows how to play set, rest are just street ballers, they have no fundamental knowhow 4- national media; they would praise the guy he was american with these stats, now they are bullshitting about him

if perimeter defense was any good in Rockets (and it really sucks sometimes), his defense would not even be in the discussion as an issue…
people are starting to realize that Sengun is the real deal, THE franchise player slept on because of how much they have invested in Jalen Green's potential. I already commented on many videos about Sengun being the most mature player in the team as he was already playing against grown men and killing it!
Maybe Jalen too is realizing that he is not the focal point anymore and it effects his game, who knows? One thing is for sure that Rockets has a gem in their hands and they should finally give him the leadership role he deserves. It is obvious now that without him, they look clueless on the court.
