Big James gets it: “My role is rebounding, being vertical at the rim and being a rim protector. That’s all I really need to do … I need to do the small things on defense, which will get me on the floor more.”

I think with this mindset he is going to see the floor more, and be a productive member of the team.

I noticed that he’s more patient and setting better screens now.

I hope he makes a leap like Poole did in 2020 so he can play 20 mins in the playoffs and help us go on a winning streak

  2. contaygious

Maybe he can not just stand there with his hands up and defend like claxon we will be good

  3. Wontonsoupz

Might be too late this year sadly but if he’s on the team next year (50/50 that happens), he needs to take a Claxton type jump to see playing time.

  4. cosmicvitae

yessirrrr he saw how Kuminga became a key part of the rotation with his defense and he’s following the blueprint

  5. Ok_Practice8288

He says this and then immediately starts posting up with 18 left on the shot clock

  6. swiftycent

He definitely has skills with the ball in his hand but that can and will only come once he can do those supplementary things he said consistently.

I like this kid. I believe in him. Whether its here, some other team, China whatever I’m rooting for him.

This is my obligatory the Warriors ain’t trading Wiseman post. The potential is there.

If he can bottle what he did against Memphis, he’s exactly what this roster needs. Memphis was neutered. They had no answer.

It also helps that his older sister went to Memphis and that’s where his family is from. All of these motivations are good for US. I expect Wiseman to lock in and play well.

Let’s hope that this back and fourth with the G League sets him up for a solid role in the rotation. Would love to see this guy find his niche on this squad.

If (big if) he can rebound like a 7 foot athletic center should…what a huge deal that would be for us. Our rebounding has been atrocious lately.

On a team where everyone handles the ball, can’t bog down the offense either.

  11. Accomplished_Iron805

If he’s taking the Kuminga approach, he’s exactly what this team needs.

  12. I’ll believe when i see it consistently. Bro been saying this fir the last 3 years now. With JK we literally saw the shift in his play. wiseman we haven’t really and every-time we think its coming he gets hurt and the progress meter with him goes to 0.

in this offense if you sinply just listen to kerr snd do what your told the points will easily come without effort but often times these young guys just go rogue due ti lack of patience

  13. Bay_Burner

Let’s see if he can get back into rotation after this injury and back to game speed quick. JK didn’t look like he missed a beat coming back after his absence

  14. ImperialTiger3

I hope that the other young guys see what JK is doing and follow. They see his success and know that if they do their part, they will be rewarded.

When the hell is this guy playing. Someone breathed on his ankle and like we have no clue when the hell he’s coming back and even if he does come back he’ll play for like 5 minutes a game. Seriously getting sick of all the Bs this year

This is how you turn star talent into a role player. On a bad team he could be KAT working his way to a max contract. Hopefully he learns to put all the little things together so he gets more tick, because his ability will shine the more he’s on the court

  17. sugarwax1

This is obviously the way they’re approaching JK too, and it’s working with him.

Wiseman has sad this kind of thing before though, it’s the follow through we need to see.

  18. The kid needs a break from injury. He needs to play 28 a night.

  19. DoctorKajita

I believe in this kid. I love his attitude and fortitude. He’s going to be special. Downvote me.

  20. short_jew

He can talk the talk. Let’s see him walk the walk

  21. IssaVSport

This is it, exactly what they need. He knows he can be a key part in defense, the fact that he can probably put up 15 ppg on offense just rebounding, lobs, & dump offs when guards are driving is the icing on the cake if he can lock it down defensively.

Lol this dude is trash will be out the league in 4 years tops.
