The Tar Heels overcame a tough comeback effort from the Orange to take their second road victory of the season, 72-68. Pete Nance paced the Tar Heels in scoring with a strong 21 points to go with 4 rebounds. Caleb Love had 15 points on an efficient 3-5 from beyond the arc along with 5 assists. Armando Bacot had 18 points and 8 rebounds in the win. For Syracuse, Joe Girard and Judah Mintz combined for 35 points.

Y’all bringing up the refs like UNC doesn’t play a bunch of games like that even at home 😂 if Syracuse won y’all wouldn’t complain much ab the refs. It’s not like Syracuse is bad they just didn’t win tonight.
As usual there were questionable calls on both sides. I am so glad my HEELS were able to get another win!! Syracuse is always a tough team to play especially on their home court. Heels led most of the way, but Cuse didn't give up. It went down to the wire and l'm so happy my HEELS won. Good game. Hope RJ will recover with a week before our next game. He was constantly being hit in the face, knocked down and numerous other attacks. Never can take a team for granted. Cuse made some excellent shots, their zone defense was tough and they never backed down. It was a good game. Great to see Caleb hitting his 3 pointers tonight. All in all we were able to keep the lead throughout the game. Jane Riggs go heels!

In history, THE HEELS own Syracuse, so I'm not surprised with this tough win! This is the same time last year when the Heels started to gel as a team and went on that magical run and fell in the NCAA championship game. THE HEELS are also not intimidated to play in an arena like that as well and a really good win bc it's about to get a little tougher. NEXT is PITT, a revenge game, and THE HEELS should have won the 1st match-up!

Note to self: put ESPN on mute when Rece Davis or Debbie Antonelli are calling the game. As commentators, that was some hot garbage. They got shrill with glee anytime Syracuse made a small play or UNC missed a free throw. Felt like I was listening to the official Syracuse commentator broadcast on every official review. Terribly disappointed in them as professionals and ESPN.
