The answer is no, they actually do not

With only 2-3 nationally televised games, they don’t get that chance to. And if I’m not a raptors fan, I wouldn’t exactly prioritize Raptors games over the others that may be happening on the same day.

Pascal has averaged 25.2 points, 8.3 rebounds and 6.5 assists in 39 games and has a +/- +77.

Brunson has averaged 22.4 points, 6.3 assists and 3.5 rebounds in 47 games and has a +/- +34.

  3. The answer is obviously “no” but also if you look at Siakam’s competition it’s also not surprising.

  4. chrisPjelly

I can’t believe Shaq snubbed Pascal for Siakam SMFH

  5. CanadianGinger551

They literally don’t lol I think that 50 point game he had in New York really pushed his play up to there eyes down there considering he was on ESPN I think the day after the game

  6. jumpthroughit

This is surprising, usually it’s Shaq that ignores everything about us and Chuck recognizes our guys.

Allen over Siakam *again*?? Just like last year when it was already a really dumb decision by Silver at the time and became even dumber by the end of the season? Allen is nice but he isn’t at all on the Siakam level.

If Allen has 2 AS appearances after this year and Siakam only has 1, while he has 2 All NBAs and Allen has never come close to having 1 it’ll show how broken AS selection really is.

This is interesting tbh. Hali, Brunson, Pascal, harden, bam and butler def all deserve it….this just means that the allstar team rosters needs ti be increased by like 2-3 per team.

  8. Ssstanimal

No we are the 12th seed Canadian team casual American viewers will not watch us

  9. Why would they? They’re busy men and the Raptors have not been an enjoyable watch for the majority of the season. Plus the Raptors don’t have many games on National TV, and in the ones we do have the Raptors have been pretty bad lol.

  10. scully19

It’s actually because they pick mostly on record for all stars and the Raptors record isn’t great.

  11. king_lloyd11

All the guys that are selected there are playing good ball on playoff/play in teams.

12th seeded all-star is a fringe pick, not a popular one.

  12. UjiriWatcher

all these guys are on winning teams (except pacers, but they were over .500 before hali injury

  13. broman911

Bruh, Randle over Siakam? Wtf. All agreed on?

  14. Same argument why OG wont win DPOY

Hard to defend a player when he plays for a losing team

I do believe Siakam should make the selection but ultimately, I want the guy to be all NBA. That to me is more important

  15. VikGrabo84

We lose more often than we win, our team isn’t that strong defensively, so it’s hard to point to a few miscellaneous blocks and steals as “good defense” for a team where he’s not top or primary defender, and he’s still super inefficient.

Pascal is shooting below league average on high usage; you could make the argument that his high totals still add value, but after adjusting for minutes, he’s really only a fringe all star. He needs to be more decisive on offense, show up for all 4 quarters, and improve his efficiency.

  16. Rhyging-007

Shaq had Siakam as an All-Star reserve but he forgot about Pascal.

  17. TurtleSquad23

Remember last year when Chuck was the only guy that supported the Raptors?

  18. KayPizzle

LMAO, it’s not a massive new revelation that probably 90% of the ppl outside of canada don’t watch the raptors.

  19. Hazelwood38

when a team is bad, a player has to be extra extra great to make the all star

  20. TwiceUpon1Time

I’m rooting for them, but I’m not watching the Raptors like that either.

Not only are they losing, but they are boring to watch.

  21. Ok_Jellyfish_1696

I think the problem is they do watch them

  22. the-BLACKEST-one

Nope, Americans don’t watch the Raptors unless they get a nationally televised game on TNT, ESPN or ABC. It’s always been like this and will likely continue to be like this so don’t hold your breathe.

  23. Sadiq_Sabonis

This won’t change unless the Raptors go on a mini dynasty and win 2-3 chips in half a decade.

  24. CheatedOnOnce

Not sure what’s happening with Kenny’s list – 3 guards??

  25. The_Living_L

It sucks but there is definitely a chance pascal doesn’t make it, I would say it’s more much likely he does but coaches prioritize the winning teams and there are tons of deserving options to choose from, unless raptors start winning siakam will be an afterthought, randle is having crazy similar numbers but on a team winning more for example. There have been players in the past with crazy all star numbers even better than siakam who haven’t made it because of their team team record

  26. ForgotToDieYoung

    > Do People Not Watch The Raptors?

    No, they don’t.

Not only does this mean fewer All Star votes for Raptors players, it’s also one of the many reasons it’s difficult to attract free agents to the team. There are mental barriers to overcome.

  27. Raptors are literally one of the worst teams in the league. No one is watching them for good reason. They stink.

  28. n3moh0es

losing teams usually don’t get players in. but i think he makes it

  29. midnightmunchiez

Aren’t there 11 per team? Why did they only show 4 reserves?

  30. guffzillar

I don’t think you can reward a guy for playing on a team with a much worse record than the previous season with no major roster changes. Siakam is playing great, but he’s not exactly been willing us to victories on a regular basis.

  31. YogurtResponsible785

It’s because of our record. We have been terrible this year.

  32. LemmingPractice

TNT doesn’t broadcast Raptors games. Who do you expect them to hype?

  33. Feeling like we could have another non-allstar All-NBA season for Pascal depending on what happens with this team age deadline and how they finish.

If they somehow go on a 2nd half run and make top 6 with him averaging 25/9/7 while playing upper echelon D then it’s in play.

  34. RonTRobot

I haven’t watched much Miami games in a while, but isn’t Adebayo not playing well this season? Is he back to form? Every Heat fan I know has been slandering him worse than Raptors have been shitting on FVV. Is this to make up for him not qualifying for last season? But then he was underperforming last season as well.

  35. SPAREustheCUTTER

It’s probably because he meant to vote for Pascal.
