Y’all probably heard by now the rumors. Drummond is getting shopped around: https://old.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/10mri8p/bulls_trade_rumors_begin_as_alex_caruso_andre/
Initially I didn’t think much of this. He’s steadily had his minutes cut/out of rotation.
But the more I think about it. We’re actually really thin in the center position. We’re already playing small ball with Derrick Jones Jr at the C. Some matchups, he’s been great. Other matchups, it’s been terrible (Look how hard Hornets dicked us with Mark Williams).
If Vuc goes down. This roster is completely fucked. So, unless we gonna be yoloing with Marko Simonovic, a 2 way player. It makes no sense to be trading away Drummond.
Unless…
The front office is close to finalizing a deal for new center!
Who are the likely candidates? Jakob Poeltl, John Collins, Myles Turner.
Given Pacer’s track record. An owner who is vehemently against tanking. I doubt they are trading MT. John Collins trying to play the C, sounds like hopium from Hawks fans desperately trying to offload him. While the Bulls are down bad, and could very well be desperate enough to try swing for the fences with the JC experiment… I think the most likely candidate is Jakob Poeltl.
Honestly, I’m surprised Bulls were able to outbid everyone else for him. But given the current landscape, it doesn’t seem like there are many suitors looking for an upgrade at the center position.
I can only think of the Raptors & Thunder. Raptors look like they’re in tank mode. So they’re out. I feel the Thunders are in no rush to contend. And are happy to wait till next season and see how far they can go with Chet Holmgren.
So yea, assuming the rumors are true. I predict Jakob Poeltl will soon be a Bull.

It doesn’t matter. If they can get any value from anyone on the team they should make that deal
Bro wtf is that picture.
Also no way we get Poetl. Spurs want 2FRPs.
Big Country played for Vancouver I thought
I don’t get a chance to watch many Bull’s games but Drummond sure looks good on the highlights. He scores and rebounds pretty well for the minutes he is given. He is only 29 years old.
What are the weaknesses with his game? Why does he only get 13 minutes a game?
Downvote me to oblivion but I honestly wouldn’t rule out a Anthony Davis trade.
I think Lakers are tearing down at LeBron’s request, Rui trade was the beginning of collecting young assets to start a rebuild, and LeBron is also on his way to Cleveland.
My prediction: bulls send out 1-2 2nd rd picks for a backup center not on this list.
If the Bulls wanted a 3rd big body, someone like Goga (Carlisle seems done with him) could probably be acquired with the cost just being the returning salary sufficient to keep the Bulls under the tax/trade is legal. There are other centers out of their teams plans that could be acquired for 10-15 backup minutes a night (Mo Bamba, he would likely require 1-2 2nd+salary). Bulls dont seem to want to fiddle with the core players, which rules out acquiring a starting center.
The price the pacers and spurs want for poetl and turner are way too steep for what we can offer
I bet it’s just gonna be a small time center or a large PF type of dude and sending Maybe a young guy and a couple 2nd round picks
