Indiana Pacers Extend Myles Turner…

  1. This is the MOST disappointed I’ve been with this team in a while. Because now, we have fully committed to mediocrity.
30 million to a center that can’t stay healthy, can’t be consistent, and can’t stop bigs like embid. Sad day.

  2. Bro you're way too negative. This deal isn't a bad one. We can still trade for Siakam, for example.
    Haliburton Hield Mathurin Siakam Turner

  3. I commented how we’re gonna stay mediocre with this bum on the pacers account and I got ATTACKED by these Turner meat riders . It’s crazy how they think just cuz he has one good year , he’s worth the money . Not wishing injuries on no one, but I wouldn’t be the least surprised if he managed

  4. You should be happy about this renegotiation and extension… You say your're goal is for the Pacers to win a championship. That happens to be my goal as well first of all, this deal only increases the value of miles Turner to other teams. We had to spend money anyway this season and it's not super long-term. The Pacers actually increase their cap space going into next season by doing this deal. You're missing the bigger picture… This was nothing but good for the future prospects of the Pacers with regard ultimately becoming a championship threat

Think about it simply setting aside the extra cap space gained and having to spend money anyways. We can still trade him now or into the future. Anyways.

What's better for the Pacers. . trading a player at Rock bottom prices because you have to or increasing a player's value because they have remaining years? This isn't hard at all man. The Pacers made the best possible move at this time. And it cost them very little to actually make it.

  5. I just was wondering if we trade him what can we get in return that's worth something but we still can trade him in the off-season could be sign him so they can get more in a trade knowing a team has more then one yr on his contract

  6. So this means the pacers got at least a two year goal to get a championship or at least make the finals. Cause i dont see a reason to resign him if thats not the case. They need to trade Duarte, bitaze, oshae and jalen, maybe even nembhard cause all he doing now is ball hogging

  7. You are exactly right. All this does is keep them just good enough to avoid the lottery, where they should have traded him and Hield and try to get as high a pick as possible in a deep draft.

  8. They paying that dude 30 million the rest of the year to get 5 rebounds we will never win a playoff series let alone a championship with him but "don't get mad at the facts though" in my BRJ voice

  9. NOW THIS IS WHAT I CALL MALPRACTICE, that's too much money time to be mid again wooooooo

  10. who is better out there in free agency or that a team wants to trade? you go with the best option and 2 years with most the salary on the first year tells me he is a trade option next season. Goga and Isaiah Jackson are not starting 5s in the NBA

  11. Fuck it ride with it atp I think Duarte and them 3 1st rounders going ….. let me ask u this if the OG aunoby trade happen and hali takes another leap next year with mathurin taking a leap and nemard with OG here do y’all think we can contend…. There’s a good chance hali and mathurin turn into superstars the eye test is hard to avoid OG fills the whole we need at the 3 great defender and a solid scorer keeping buddy for 3pt shooting off the bench with nemard and add another bet shooter to replace Duarte production with nésmith off the bench as well I think we’ll have good bench …. Myles is what he is just do your job we ain’t expecting him to be no savior this organization banking on hali and math and having good pieces around them kind of like Tatum and brown

  12. We can still trade him bro & this actually makes it more possible if u really think about it. Teams see he's about to walk in free agency & think why would they offer us anything of value if he's gonna be a FA? That contract isn't so massive no team will trade for him especially if they trade us a player or players with similar deals. I don't know the inner details of it yet but I would definitely think both parties kept shit open to make it possible for a future trade. I'm bummed though cause I sincerely thought we realized we NEEDED a big that can actually play defense & rebound with us getting completely dominated lately especially on defense. This teams defense is still next level HORRIBLE allowing teams like the Magic to practically run layup drills on us. Shit hopefully we keep getting absolutely pummeled & make the draft lottery. It's about time the little powerballs show us some God damn luck & we steal the #1 pick. Still makes me mad that Phoenix matched our offer for Ayton just to constantly bitch about him not wanting to be there. The stubborn ass Suns seriously thought they could just force a dude to be happy with money. Now they all wish they traded him & we all wish it too

  13. Wow. Just when I thought this management couldn't get anymore inept and incompetent. Here's to being 8th-10th seed for years to come!! Cheers 🍻!!

  14. I actually like this contract. We were below the salary floor so we had to spend more money at some point. After this season, Turner will make approximately 20 mil per year, which is a solid deal. I am, however, more intrigued with what we do with Turner in the offseason. With Turner now not being a one year rental to teams, we would likely get a much better trade package compared to if we just dealt him without having this extension. Hopefully we can get a star player that's a true wing and stop playing four guard lineups and getting destroyed🤣

  15. You’ve been saying you want the pacers to trade for siakam and doing this extension seems like the only possible way of making this happen. By the time the off-season starts if we want to trade him teams won’t be paying him 30 mil it’s gonna be like 21 and for his production that’s solid. He was on the last year of his contract if we want to make any type of splash this offseason this was the only way to do it

  16. What is also really confusing is the timing of this extension, why do this signing when the pacers are 1-9 in their last ten games how could they commit to mediocrity once again just one season after getting out of it 30 mil per year on a 17 7 guy is just too much, but hey we live in a world where rudy gobert is making high max caliber money

  17. Why do so many people think that we need a super star at the center position. This is a 2 year contract which is perfect. He'll come off the books when it's time to resign Hali. Look at the past several teams that won championships and tell me if their centers were putting up better numbers than Myles Turner. This is a Guard and wing driven league so you need a center that can stretch the floor and block shots. He's a little weak on rebounding but most of that is because he's out of position trying to prevent the layup line. Rick Carlisle is way smarter than your average NBA fan so I think great thought went into the this signing. I bet the Pacers will win 60 games next year assuming there will be no key injuries. They just need to go out and get that 3 and D wing.

  18. Born Ready you are so into tanking you were celebrating Haliburton's injury. Does this contract extension = a top 10 selection in 2023 draft ?

  19. I love your content but I also feel like your feeding the most casual Pacer fans everything they wanna hear.. this extension was great for the Pacers even if you felt like he needed to be traded .. we had to spend that 17 mill he got extra this year anyways and it made his salary the next 2 years very team friendly for the skill set he has.. aka his trade value is more than the crumbles the Lakers wanted us to believe we should have accepted

  20. Idc I like the contract not happy or upset Pacers can still make big move for a star that's all I care about.

  21. I think this a friendly contract, we can still trade Turner if stuff doesn't work out. I don't mind with this news.

  22. The ONLY thing that matters is whether Rese is happy or not. I guarantee you they spoke with him beforehand on what he thinks of extending MT, and if they didn't, they most def should! As long as our main star is happy, and they continue surrounding him with the pieces we need to win games then I'm happy. Otherwise, for you MT haters, we can't trade fans unfortunately 🤷🏽‍♂️

  23. I see what you’re saying BRJ, seems like the Pacers are just keeping him around because there’s no other option and that screams mediocrity. Fans are congratulating the front office Instead of focusing on the fact they had to extend him only because they dropped the ball on not having been trading him. Pacers backed themselves in a corner and fans are happy. Us as Pacers fans gotta want more.

  24. Honestly who will celebrate his contract no one but what center or player do u want bro u got me confused it ain't ever go be a jokic or Joel or even Bam I don't like myles either but the hell u want brah he better than most not all centers he just can't rebound I wanna trade em but for who we can't take back draft picks wit Tyrese on the roster

  25. They on FB talking ish brah lol myles never made a allstar , defensive team , offensive team nothing all he can say is that he play for the pacers for 10yrs but mfs happy wit the deal please stop idk who to trade him for but dude does not and will not move the needle for the pacers he at least is the 10 best center in the league maybe 6th

  26. I disagree with this take, not because I like Miles Turner but from the standpoint of this gives the Pacers several options and actually increases the trade value of Miles. Firstly this now guarantees Miles can't leave for nothing at the end of the year which inturns says to potential trade partners that we don't have to Trade Miles so give us what we want or we just won't trade him, if you want him you have to make it worth it for us. This a is very smart move and it just puts the teams in the league that are just one of player away on notice that if you want that one piece that can put you over the top you gotta pay

  27. Hi Born Ready Jones. I know you did not like us resigning him but this could be a win win because he’s still trade eligible by Feb. 9 and because we made his contract more money this and the next two seasons are 21 mil and 20 mil. It allows Pacers to get more assets if traded by the deadline, it allows Myles to get his money, and allows a team to get a contract friendly starting center for the next two years if traded by the deadline. Actually, brilliant deal. Can still be traded because it was only a 2 year deal. Here’s everything about that signing deal. https://youtu.be/Ng4VSqy1xkc
