I don’t see any reason for us to be actively shopping Bones. Especially to a team like MN? What do they even have that would be worth it to make that move?

Everyone is trying to buy low on Bones. I’ll be pretty mad if we trade him. To go deep into the playoffs, you need scoring threats off the bench who can drop 15 points in 20 minutes. And Bones is that guy

Please don’t trade bones for half a season of a ok backup center

I think shipping off bones now would be a huge mistake. Yes he’s had a rough year learning
To be the bench point guard but he is young and a streaky scorer one that can make shot from anywhere on the court. I’ll give Calvin Booth the benefit of the doubt he has made a few really good moves already but unless we are massively upgrading I can’t see the value in trading bones.

We do need def from the bench but I’d keep bones than sell low.

Timberwolves fan here (I know, cringe) Naz Reid is one of the best scoring centers in the NBA, his defense is pretty bad since he’s undersized but he’ll get you a block a game if you play him.

As a bigman his inside game is more euro steps and flashy layups but he also likes to dunk on people. If you can get Naz Reid to take standstill threes on the wing or above the break that’s where he excels the most and I suspect the percentages will back me up on this.

His BBIQ is sometimes suspect and he might turn the ball over a couple times in a row. But overall he is a momentum shooter and finisher and if he’s on he can be your entire offense for 3-4 possessions in a row and rattle off 9-12 points in succession.

TLDR; Defense bad but not terrible, Finishing good, three pointer is good if he’s at his spots, BBIQ is below average, he’s a momentum player so he scores in spurts.

Singer said we’re unlikely to make a deal. Just wanted to throw that out there

I get the “win now” energy and seeing someone in a slump makes you want to move on but..wow. None of these potential trades I’m hearing about would make up for losing Bone’s potential upside. We don’t have many picks to attach, so we’d be getting a mid player at best.

  9. Alec Burks is my favorite trade target at this point. Wing who can handle the ball, good size, solide defense, good IQ, I think he would help our bench a lot.

Bones + Reed + Ish for Burks + McGruder works in the book. If you can get DET 2nd round pick 2023 (which is gonna be a very high 2nd so it’s almost the same value as a late first), I think that’s good value
