  1. I would absolute love Vanderbilt. Doubt he would cost too much

  2. I would looooove Vando. But how would that work? Would he come off the bench? I guess he could still average 25 minutes if he covered most of the backup PF/C minutes.

  3. EddieWap2x

I’ve been waiting for this day since last year. He’d fit in SO well with us. He’s been working on his 3 ball. Good rebounder. GREAT multi-positional defender. Better passer than I thought initially. Only issue is he’s short, but I think he’d be great for us.

  4. GuyIncognito211

I don’t know a ton about him but Dame mentioned wanting to play with him earlier in the season so that seems good

  5. FootTraffickn

Hoping we can grab Clarkson or Beasley as well so we can have a true 6th man burner off the bench

  6. kim_jong_trill

Would probably be a 3 team deal. Hart dealt to a team, picks to Utah, Vando to Portland. The money is tough to make work unless the deal includes other players from Utah to us and we’re sending out Hart or Utah really likes…Winslow for some reason (lol)

  7. allaboutthatpace

He only makes $4M which makes the salary matching complicated. It’s either Justice or one of our not so good young guys. Would Vando and Talen for Hart and Justice plus seconds work? We would get to roll over the Hart salary slot another year since THT has another year on his deal.

    Josh for Vando

    Dame Ant Grant Vando Nurk

That’s pretty good, def need to trade for more size.

  9. This is my ideal move for us at the deadline. Could see it going one of two ways:

Either we sell Hart for parts (to Miami, phx, NY whoever) and use said parts to acquire Vanderbilt

Or we manage to get Vanderbilt for Keon, GB2 and a 2RP or two.

I think bringing in Vando gives us great flexibility at the 4, allows Jermai to play the 3/4, and gives us another option for a small ball 5.

  10. FakeFan07

If we could flip hart and relatively nothing else, this would be an amazing get. Always been a fan of Vanderbilts game, legit defender and rebounder.

  11. Severe_Divide1791

Jazz fan. I’ve loved Vando! He is a high energy guy and on a cheap contract.

  12. Tough_Presentation57

Hear me out, why not try to use picks and a combo of Keon / Greg to get him? And then still start him in 25 ish a night, and have hart be our 6 man?

  13. 1850ChoochGator

Seems like a great fit. Possible trade details:

    Vanderbilt: $4.374m

Our contracts that would fit on a 1:1 trade are just Nassir ($4.172m) and Winslow ($4.097)

If we want to package Hart in also we get up to either another $8m from Utah, or we package Winslow and Hart to get $17m back from Utah. Vando and one of Clarkson/Olynyk/THT would fit here but I’m not crazy about it.

I’d prefer a Winslow for Vando swap.

  14. terrordactylz

Folks here are saying Hart for Vanderbilt, but how would that work? Hart makes $13m and Vanderbilt makes $4.1m. From a picks standpoint, I don’t believe we’re able to trade a 1st without removing the protections from the pick we owe to Chicago, but maybe something like Winslow + a couple 2nds could make sense?

  15. Trailbleezers

As long as we don’t have to send a first – Keon +gb2+ 2nd seems reasonable. Utah probably wants prospects more than veterans, but who knows? Unprotecting the chicago 1st for vandy is not appealing.

  16. Ouchyhurthurt

I really like Vanderbilt. But trading with Ainge scares the bejeesus out of me.

  17. JarenAnd

Let’s continue to will this into fucking existence. Exactly the type of big we need. Then add a couple role player shooters for bench.

  18. I really like Vanderbilt. But Ainge is a con artist!!! We saw how he bamboozled the T-Wolves (also they were dumb).

  19. winfortheboys

To me he is just taller Winslow, which is not bad actually

  20. UnifiedChungus666

No more first round picks for role players.

Covington, Nance, Aaffalo all didn’t work out AND Blazers still owe a first round pick to Chicago for Nance.

  21. saylab_the_bigkat

Would love having a forward/big like this to have on the roster. This team could use a small type of center who can switch well, rebound well, run the floor well, maybe catch and shoot like 1-2 threes a game. Others have mentioned him maybe starting at the 4, which would be cool too. Grant is a guard in a big guy body, given his aversion to rebounding. This would give him more time to sink into that role. Just lord give this team some feasibility to go small that doesn’t result in Eubanks getting eaten alive like he did against the Raptors

  22. Can someone explain why the Jazz would trade Vanderbilt? Is he expiring and they don’t want to pay him or something?

  23. We could do something like:

    POR – Vanderbilt, Crowder

    PHX – Hart

UTH – Walker, Okogie, and draft compensation

  24. My guess is an expiring like Winslow and Watford along with a pick?

  25. ElizahHuge

Jazz fan here. Here are a couple of options we like:

    Vando/Gay for Hart

    Vando/Olynyk for Hart/Winslow

    Thoughts on either?

  26. aturanblix

I hope we try and go for a similar structure to Cleveland. They have two score first and not great defensive guards, but put heaps of height and defense around them.

Putting vando + grant + Nurk around Dame + Ant is sort of similar IMO. Maybe just need a more athletic big at the 5 who is a bit more switchable and we golden

  27. dubmecrazy

This is the correct target. He can’t finish, but that’s okay.

  28. flawson_9

Fuck vando would be so sweet. Picking him up though would mean we’d need to be more careful with our lineups and make sure we have enough shooters in the floor

  29. I honestly think Keon would be a great option for the Jazz. Keon and GB3 match salary wise. May not seem like a lot, but if you think about it, Keon was a recent first round pick, is very young, and has already shown quite a bit of promise. Win win for both teams if you ask me.

  30. Notoryus7

Vando is a good defender that brings a “chaotic energy” and nonstop hustle. He’s a guy you just root for, just like GP2. I have a feeling his corner 3 will become serviceable. I think he’d go well with your roster, hell, just about any roster.

Just don’t get Ainged, he’s got his shears out lookin for a fleece! Unfortunately I don’t think your FO is anywhere near as dumb as Minnesota 🤣

  31. GalaxyOpalGrill

I want him. Dame wants him. But I’m not sure what a fair package would look like or if Ainge is willing to accept fair market value. I don’t want us to overpay for a guy who, at this point in his career, is a high upside role player. He’d be a great addition, but I hope we don’t talk ourselves into thinking he’s more than what he is.

  32. tblazrdude

Someone sell me on Vanderbilt. Limited shooter, ok defender… is taller than most of the guys we have what am I missing? Isn’t that Justise Winslow’s music?
