Isn't that assurance him wanting a long term commitment?
Did the Nets seriously think they were going to embarrass both KD and Kyrie, and then these two would play the entire season and take them deep into the playoffs? The FO needs to be fired for not properly dealing with this situation during the off-season. Raptors did the same thing with FVV and OG as did the Suns with Ayton. When teams don't button up contract issues in a timely fashion, and publicly leak to the media to leverage their negotiating position, this is what happens.
