Please be us. Please be us. Please be us.

Doesn’t this allow us to use our trade exception?

    A few ideas:

    – Winslow + 2 2nds isn’t rich enough to outpace the market.

    – Nas for Vando ‘should’ do it, might not get it done, Ainge is holding out for picks. (And Portland shouldn’t trade Nas, IMO)

    – Nas + 2 2nds is an overpay.

    – Hart to a 3rd team for a first might happen but would only get done at the last second and has a higher chance of falling through because it requires a 3rd team to offer a first and prefer Hart over Vando.

    – There are a bunch of other last minute 3-team concepts with more players involved but too complicated to list out here.

Give them three second round picks, we already have enough talent to develop as is right now we dont need those. (Watford, Jabari, Sharpe. Badji and Butler are obviously projects FO is trying to develop instead of drafting anymore of those guys in the second round.

  4. Throw a 2029 first round in there. Or make so Bulls get this years first rd pick so they can open up the future first rounders. But they could be waiting to the offseason to use the first round picks for an all in move. But find a way to get Vanderbilt now

POR can’t trade Nas for JV straight up, because extensions have a “poison pill” provision.

Nas cap hit for POR is his current $4.17M. However the cap hit/trade amount for any incoming team is the average of his contract over the duration of five years, $6.43M.

JV makes $4.37M, which could only be traded up 125% to $5.46M (+100K).

The only player POR could trade for JV 1:1 is Justice, $4.09M. Which, would put POR in the tax, if nothing else was done.

If UTA wants to send out Beasley with JV, then POR could get there with Hart and Justice/Nas. $19.95M incoming, $16.95 outgoing – POR is in the tax, but under the hard cap, and the +/- money works. Kelly O instead of Beasley also works. $17.17 incoming. Or, you could do Hart for JV and Gay straight up, with POR taking a couple mil off the books.
