Jake reports here that Naz Reid is looking for $10M annually in an extension. I’ve heard Reid’s non-Wolves market, for now, is more like $7 or $8M annually, as I mentioned on the show last week. Desires $10M… Market is $7/8M… So where are the Wolves? That’s the question.

10 million for Naz seems like a good deal and gives us a mid sized movable contract. Get it done

  2. Seems so reasonable. Wonder what the hang up is other than not wanting to commit more to the Center position. Naz has shown the desire to get better every offseason. From improving his body by getting shape from year 1 to year 2. To improving his handles & finishing ability this year.

Wolves, being the Wolves, will probably give him the Pekovic special. 17 mil/yr even though *no one* else is bidding anywhere near that.

I hope we don’t fuck this up over a measly 2 million. The cap is about to spike too. Connelly gotta be smart enuf to PAY NAZ REID!

Is it just money or does Naz want more time on the court / be on a team where that is more likely and thus opportunity to make more later?

We really can’t offer the latter with KAT.

Can we start a go fund me for help pay for Naz?

I was thinking 25m/3yrs. 10M bit too high.

Split the difference, give him $9 million.

Then everyone in this sub that posts “Naz Reid” can kick in another $1 per instance, easily putting him over his asking price. Everyone wins.

    NAZ. REID.

I’m fine with this number. Will be arguably easier to move Naz at 10m than his current contract, if we need to.

Wish TC played hardball like this with Ainge

He obviously wants to play here this is a no-brainer in my opinion.

The hard part is he wants to play probably.

Going to struggle to get minutes with the other 2 bigs around.

If I could wave a magic wand I would keep NAZ and only one of KAT or Rudy and would use the extra cash for a point guard or shooting guard.

I don’t think we can play 2 bigs and I Naz is probably the only one willing to take a backup role out of the 3 guys.

I will boof crack if we don’t sign him at that price

  14. And why shouldn’t he be worth $10/year would be my question.

Easily worth that. Easily worth more when you look at a good 50 jackass contracts in this league.

  15. Don’t forget Shabazz Muhammad turned DOWN 10 mil/year

Not super relevant, but I happened to look at Naz Reid’s similarity scores on Basketball-Reference, and his #1 comp through 3 seasons was… Jaren Jackson Jr.

So I think he will be an all-star next season. $10M sounds good to me.
