  1. He went from “probably coming back this week” to “re-evaluation AFTER the ASB”??????

Either he reinjured , the medical staff did not evaluate correctly his injury or recovery or i don´t know.

Either way, the team needs to reconsider the Zion + BI tandem because your season cannot depend on two injury prone guys.

This must’ve been the “bad news” that someone posted about yesterday after the win (looks like the post was shortly removed).

  3. Anordinaryhero

Zion should take whatever time he needs, but it’s maddening the way this team disseminates injury information.

  4. Newoikkinn

This isnt even bad news. This might be, hey weve won 3 in a row so lets be cautious type deal.

Let the kid rest during ASB and see where we are at.

Is our medical team really bad at their job? Do we have the worst injury luck? Are our guys terrible at recovering? Do the basketball gods smite us?

Like wtf. Why do our injuries last forever.

I’m fine with waiting until he’s 100% but their timetables are so frustrating. When he got hurt all they had to do was say, “With this type of injury, we don’t expect him to be back before the all star break. He’ll continue to be evaluated and we hope we can get him back sooner than that.”

  7. McJumbos

i think they are definitely slow playing it and being cautious like with BI. I think the fact we started winning games again is allowing zion to heal up a little longer

  8. I’ll never stop being optimistic towards our guys’ injuries, and I’ll never stop being hurt by the eventual bad news.

  9. For the love of God can comms please just bake in an extra month when they give us injury timelines!

If Z is doing workouts and 3 on 3 activity he should be back for the first game after ASB right? Assuming no ‘setbacks’… first game after ASB is 2/23 so an additional 15 days to recover.

This isn’t bad news, just cautiousness. If the all star break wasn’t now, he’d be playing Friday or the next game. But we might as well take advantage of the extra rest and use that week to ramp him up. Obviously we want to see him play but this is the best thing to do
