Woj followed up with Nickeil Alexander-Walker to the Timberwolves

Shams just said “second-round pick compensation to Minnesota”

  2. PlayInChampions

Lakers got Beasley, Vando, and Dlo for one lightly protected pick AND got rid of Westbrook? Seriously?

  3. Glad we are able to keep the salary slot open for another year and still stay competitive this year.

  4. Gyroflex

2nd rounders and NAW…. the market for d’lo must not have been that great after all

  5. Conley has a 4.5:1 A:T ratio, Dlo has a 2:1. Conley shoots 42% on catch and shoot 3’s and above that from the corners. He’s a vet with playoff experience that knows how to play with Rudy, and doesn’t need the ball in his hands. A decent player that’s a good fit and good salary cap management with some picks coming back.

    Good shit, TC

edit: I honestly have no clue what some of you guys were expecting. YOU CAN’T LET DLO WALK FOR NOTHING – IT WOULD BE SALARY CAP MISMANAGEMENT OF THE HIGHEST ORDER.

Crazy that Beasley and Vando have been traded together 3 times, and all 3 deals involved Connelly

  7. funket0wn

Wish Vanderbilt was coming back, even Beasley add some much needed shooting

  8. Waveytony

I remember being ecstatic when we first got Dlo for Wiggins, as sad of an outcome this is for us given the return and current state of the team, what a fun era it was

  9. BreakingGarrick

Tim Connelley is a basketball terrorist.

  10. MidniteMason

HOLY SHIT 3 second rounders and NAW?!?!? This is a hell of a deal for us

  11. domino380

How the fuck did the Lakers improve their depth so much with just Westbrook and a pick

  12. FullBonus

The utah sub values Conley very highly. I’m very curious, think it could be a genuinely good pick up

  13. Illustrious_Self_713

Conley, Alexander-Walker, 3 SRPs for D-Lo is a good haul

  14. IMeanHeck

I don’t understand why people are so mad here.

We extend our salary slot, traded a highly inconsistent player making a max salary, now have a solid veteran PG who can distribute and limit turnovers and has unlocked Gobert in the past.

And three 2nds is fine too, can turn that into a 1st.

Everybody calm the hell down lol

  15. thatsoneguytoyou

This is fine. Everyone is captured by recency bias.
Dlo will crater again, and it’s a rental for the Lakers.

  16. CantinaRoo

I actually like this trade. We’re not making a deep run this year anyway. Why not get something for a walking Dlo. I’m actually excited for Conley too. And TC is getting some 2nds to find some diamonds in the rough.

  17. hitman2218

How’d we trade the best player in the deal and end up with the worst compensation.

  18. Dr_Fabulous11

does anyone know tim connelly’s address in minecraft?

  19. vikings12886

I love the trade. So many casuals here that don’t understand salary cap, or that this team is now Ants team. We got value from a guy that had ~40 games left as a Timberwolf. A guy who is a proven veteran, a passing PG, and NAW isn’t just a shitty player. He has some upside I really like for this team.

We gotta make Ant-Man the star. This is the move.

  20. GetThereInOnePiece

ainge gets off on fucking the wolves more than he does sticking it to the lakers

  21. FullBonus

There’s a reason Conley is so beloved by Utah. I think having a true PG is gonna help this team.

  22. luizslayer

Why are we helping the Lakers get to the playoffs smh my head

  23. twinsguy1

I don’t understand why people are so negative about this trade. Getting Conley preserves D’Lo’s salary slot, while getting a player that is similar quality to D’Lo and also some draft capital.

  24. auggiedoggies

Idk this really isn’t a bad trade. Conley actually plays D and fits this team well, and we save the salary slots. Plus get a few lottery tickets. It’s fine.

The lakers tho…they crushed it. God damn

  25. theBigBurt

Wolves are one of the most inconsistent teams in the nba. They just traded the most inconsistent player they have by far. Who was playing the most important position on a team. This is not a bad thing.

  26. Either_Vermicelli_53

Neutral (blazers fan coming in peace ) . I think you guys did really well here

  27. SlowCrates

    This is fucking amazing!!!

We got rid of D’lo, and in return we get:

A point guard who only takes 8.7 shots/game, has made 38% of his 3’s in his career, and is averaging almost 8 assists per game on the season.

A young shooting guard who is making over 40% of his 3’s this season and only takes 4.7 shots while getting 2.1 assists off the bench in limited minutes.

If you add all their shots, rebounds, and assists together, that’s 13.4 shots, 4.1 rebounds, and 9.8 assists per game. D’Lo was taking 13.5 shots by himself and only getting 3.1 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game.

Oh, and we’re getting draft picks!!!!!!!

I feel like this trade completely counters the lopsidedness of the Gobert trade.
