Jon K opening up a little about Dlo on Dan Barreiro

* I’m paraphrasing here, but he said that Dlo openly talked shit about Gobert in front of teammates and other teams and coaches, sometimes even on the floor. He said that Dlo wore his frustration of Gobert “on his sleeve”.
* He also said that Dlo did not want to throw lobs to Gobert and had little interest in working with him.
* Several times media came into the locker room and could hear Dlo being frustrated with having to play with Rudy, and Jon insinuated it was awkward to hear.
* Rudy also knew that Dlo did not like him
* Rudy very excited about Conley, can trust him
* wolves pursued Bones, Crowder and Bey

starts about 26 min and runs the entire segment so you can listen for yourself

Edit: – I edited a couple things after re-listening. Jon did not say rudy didn’t trust dlo, I also changed “wore his dislike” to “wore his frustration” to more accurately reflect what Jon said

This is one of the things I respect most about KAT. He has ALWAYS accepted his new teammates with open arms. Hell, he was probably more excited about passing to Gobert than he even should’ve been lmao.

  2. summit_ave

Not what you want from your veteran point guard. Excited to see Conley.

  3. GetThereInOnePiece

Dlo bout to learn in LA when Bron makes him pick up his dry cleaning for missing a rotation and getting cooked by monte morris 😂

  4. aSc4rYGh0sT

I can understand why reporters don’t report these kinds of things prior to a trade happening (not wanting to burn bridges), but I really wish that they would.

    Edit:

    >He also said that Dlo did not want to throw lobs to Gobert and had little interest in working with him.

This is shades of Butler refusing to pass to KAT. Just petty, stupid bullshit.

  5. karlwhethers

Well that’s one way to not get a contract. Hope he fares well in LA, but LeBron is notorious for making players adjust to exactly how he likes to play.

If true (and it almost certainly is because Jon wouldn’t lie about this), thank fuck we got rid of D’Los cancer ass. Dude’s nothing but toxic and his attitude is indefensible.

  7. Pretty evident in retrospect. In theory DLo & Rudy should’ve worked. But all season DLo wasn’t find Rudy at all.

On the trades, don’t think the interest was much for Bones if you couldn’t beat a two 2nd round pick cost. Especially since TC knows Bones. Crowder & Bey seem to be out of our price range.

Lol I actually think D Lo thinks he’s good enough to have a team ran around him, good luck in LA brother you’re gonna need it 😂

  9. Frontier21

I m so excited to be beyond the DLo era. You could see an inkling of what Jon was talking about on the court, but it sounds pretty shitty to hear how vocal he was to opponents and in the locker room. What a great way to integrate a new teammate. And before we lament DL’s shooting, remember that Conley is a 38% career 3-point shooter, compared to Russell’s 36%. Dude has been on a hot streak. That’s it. Glad we moved him before he reverted back to what he is.

I’m sorry but reading how D’Lo was *openly trashing Rudy in public, getting to the bullet point

    > * Rudy also knew that D’Lo did not like him

    had me cackling.

But damn, so weird that D’Lo had such issues with Gobert… *Especially* considering that everyone felt like the Rudytrade would benefit D’Lo the most ?? 🤔

There’s no guarantees with trades, but shit, one thing is for sure, you better believe Conley will be able to collect an inbound pass in clutch time as opposed to the 5+ times games that were lost because Dlo couldn’t get open for inbound or just fumbled it and game over (including last year playoffs). Good luck to all traded players and teams!

  12. TheNotoriousJN

Its straight up shitty behaviour. You are a team. They’ve brought this guy in, you fucking do what you can to make it work and you buy in to make it a success

I dont like the Gobert move, I have yet to warm up at all to Gobert the person. But we get behind him. Thats unbelievably shitty from Dlo and its detrimental to the team. No wonder His ass got shipped off

I would think that bullshit has likely cost us a game or 2 as well due to the bad vibes, and lack of chemistry because of it. Which again. Is fucking grim from Dlo. Fuck that.

I also cant believe we didnt get Hyland. Surely the rumour of Kroenke refusing to do business with us was true because there is NO WAY we didnt put 2 2nds up

  13. man it’s kinda no wonder this team has dropped so many winnable games and given little effort

that locker room was not in a good place

  14. MordinSolusSTG

could never understand the ego of these dudes, just count your millions and fly to Bali with your supermodels, jesus fucking christ

  15. Swampertman

I’ve always been a Dlo fan, but if he really treated Gobert like that then I lost a ton of respect for him. Reminds me of Jimmy Butler in a way. Treat your teammates with respect even if they aren’t playing well

  16. MiloGoesToTheFatFarm

I feel vindicated for my DLO takes

  17. thiswasmy19thchoice

Does this come across as way out of left field for anybody else? DLo always came across as mostly a pretty wholesome guy all things considered. We haven’t heard anything like this the whole time he was here, now he’s a major dickhead? If this is really him, then he needs to get some work in hollywood for his acting skills. I feel somewhat skeptical, like maybe somebody took blunt criticism as talking shit or something like that.

  18. FlyingScissor

Dlo might be really really fucking dumb. Gobert trade in part was to help increase Dlo’s value and you trash him, refuse to be a decent teammate. All while trying to get the bag. Just try to be a good teammate make shit work with Rudy and he could have gotten the bag from the Wolves. My goodness yall I hope one day to have the confidence of a mediocre point guard.

  19. Winter_Purchase6562

Wow coming from a guy who calls himself alpha? I’m shocked.

  20. Andy_Wiggins

I feel like Ant’s picked up on some of this, as he definitely seems frustrated by Rudy and reluctant to involve him. Here’s to hoping Conley not only helps maximize Rudy himself, but sets and example and helps Ant maximize Rudy too.

  21. Not gonna say it was obvious but that quote earlier from DLo in the season where he said “if he catches the ball he’ll score” or something like that sent alarm bells ringing in my head. Not to mention the fact he unfollowed him on Insta😭

  22. Secret-Limit3138

Gosh I’ve always loved Dlo’s professionalism (like he didn’t let trade rumors affect his job) but if this is true, I’m really not a fan of this. All teammates have frustrating flaws about them but openly talking shit in front of other teammates is not welcoming and being a terrible teammate.

Someone is your teammate, you make it work for the good of the team. They all have their pros and cons. Must have been so awkward for Rudy. I’m glad he has KAT and Kyle Anderson at least. KAT has always been so welcoming.

Gotta say though…Austin Rivers also rolls his eyes, puts his hands in his head and says things when Rudy makes a mistake. Just a shitty environment to create. Pat Bev wouldn’t do that in my opinion. There’s a difference between frustration vs what looks like disgust. I might be reaching for sure – just things I noticed

  23. tasteofscarlet

That DNP after the players meeting looks reeeeeal suspect now

  24. thestereo300

D Lo unfollowing wolves and being all cryptic on Twitter is making more sense.

  25. Underdog_To_Wolf

This makes me respect KAT and Ant even more. Instead of following Dlo’s lead and isolating a teammate they hype Rudy up and have made efforts of integrating him into the team.

If this report is true I have lost a lot of respect for Dlo.

  26. Ineedmonnneeyyyy

Dlo seems to be incredibly uncoachable when you factor this in with him also basically saying Fuck You to Drip Saunders when he tried to get him to stop taking so many long twos and adjust his game to the system he wanted to run.

Just a losing player man. The NBA is littered with them.

  27. MajorNewb21

I’ve had friends that I thought were really cool when I was younger but as I matured and they didn’t, I started putting more space between us. KAT prob feels this way about DLo now.

  28. Fetchin1

So basically in a contract year DLO starts horribly and blames that on the adjustment of having to playing with Rudy. He starts hating Rudy because of that and unfollows him. Then he starts shooting better but realizes the organization only wants to pay him half of what Rudy makes. He unfollows the Timberwolves. You can’t spell delusional without DLO! Good luck with GM Lebron.

  29. ANTfanclub

I understand why journalists don’t put players on blast like this, but now that it’s coming out, I want so badly to know what Ant thinks about Rudy. Was it just DLo hating on him?

This also makes sense after that one game right before the Pistons “team only meeting”, were Naz and a couple guys were saying we know who the problem is, wonder if they were talking about negative energy from DLo

  30. ChessyLogic

I don’t think Rudy was too fond of D’Lo either at least on the court. With Rudy being the defensive guy he is, there were so many times I saw him getting frustrated with D’Lo whether it wasn’t boxing out or just not giving effort on defense in general. Both polarizing players who are basically the complete opposite of each other on and off the court lol
