  1. 🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️ could've kept McDaniels…. but oh well… maybe that will give Kai Jones more PT

  2. I know the trade deadline moves aren't going to make a lot of Charlotte fans ecstatic, but I like what we did.

For too long weve been stuck in this phase of wanting to compete without having the necessary pieces. This move allows us to focus on letting our young guys grow and hopefully get a good player in the draft.

  3. The team’s moves could have been better but it also could have been a lot worse. Our center rotation will be a thing of beauty going forward. Silver linings!

  4. HOW DOES MASON get nothing in return for Hornets. Ik we got Mason cvs for draft JT THOR. At least get a draft pick when u ship Mason OUT. Now we got REGGIE who could simply just not play for rest of szn get paid and leave. 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️

  5. What bothered me was Mason trade. Comparing that to Pels trading Graham and spurs got 4 2nd RD like how!?!

  6. I'm happy about the moves. The hornets draft 1st rounders and they never never play. I don't understand why they never play. I've been saying they need to start the center from Duke.

  7. Lakers fan here…Hornets got fleeced for their pieces that should have returned a greater yield during this unprecedented arms race in the west.

Thomas Bryant yielded 3 second round picks. Mason has been balling and there were teams actively looking for his skill set in preparation of the playoffs.

  8. I believe we saw the ceilings for McDaniels and Plumlee with the Hornets. Those ceilings are worth seconds, imo.

  9. Think about it like this… on draft day when we got Thor, taking on Plumlee's contract meant we came up several spots in the draft to select JT. We got a year of a starting caliber center when we were waiting on Kai Jones or Nick Richards (or Vernon Carey Jr. at the time) to develop. As it turned out, Nick developed, but we selected Mark in the draft, clogging things a bit. Then, surprisingly, Mason showed up this season, playing as good if not better than any point he has been in the NBA, which made it difficult to play the other guys, who desperately need game time to improve. However, the last month or so has shown that Mark is our long term answer at center. He just offers so much defensively with his length that you cannot rationalize keeping him off the court anymore. No matter what, we were always going to move on from Mason when his contract was up, so we were able to move on early which buys playing time for Mark, Nick, Kai and to a lesser extent JT, and we did get back some sort of draft capital (2028 2nd rounder from Clippers). If you add in the McDaniels trade, we get Svi back (I know, big whoop there), trade off a weaker 2nd round pick for what will likely be a top 35 pick this year and add a future 2nd in 2027 which will be the most favorable out of Atlanta or New Orleans). I personally feel PJ and Oubre are going to be resigned and I think (a touch worryingly might I add) the franchise will probably try to bring Miles back. Making these moves allow us to suffer enough short term to get a top seven pick (hopefully higher) and two late 1st/early 2nd in a pretty stacked draft. We will also play our young players as Clifford literally has no choice. If nothing else, by the summer we will know what to keep out of what we have left and where we need to target replacements in the draft. So, all things considered, if you are trying to win games this year, this trade was an absolute F. But if you really want us to climb out of the gutter, I think this wasn't bad, though we should have secured a touch more draft capital for McDaniels. If you look at it solely from the eyes of losing these guys 6 months early when we already suck gets us an extra pick next year and in 2027 and 2028 how can you be mad? B- trades for me.

  10. Jalen may not have been “calling for the ball” but he dang sure was hogging it when he got it. He & Mason looked LaMelo off regularly until Mason tried to get his trade value up.

  11. Hayward and Rozier are still here. When you’ve been a dumpster fire for 20 years it’s hard to change.

  12. The toughest part about being a fan is we have no idea what the plan is. I started paying for my 2023-24 season tix last month since I spread it over 12 months. Are we going to re-sign Miles or move on? The silence is crazy. We got a rambling letter from Mitch last night but it doesn't really say anything. We don't have a clue if Clifford is even going to be the coach next year. Some of the other comparable players that got move fetched more draft capital as well. It is a tough product to pay for just like the Panthers.

  13. We got fleeced. I’m glad we got rid of the guys we got rid of but if you look around the league at similar trades everyone else got more compensation in return.

  14. Hey Hey … Ho Ho Old Man Mitch has Got To Go. Getting my signs ready LOL … Wish we could trade GMs at the deadline
