Luka Doncic on late stepback he missed with Mavs down 3: “It’s my bad. Should have gave it back to Kai. For me, it’s still a learning process. But for sure, I should have gave it back. He was really hot down the stretch, so that was on me for sure.”

  1. As long as he really does learn from and do better then not a big deal.

We all know Luka is a habit player though and takes a while to break his habits.

He knows, he will adjust. Everyone chill out. He’s a literal kid. We’re gonna be fine

luka 1st experience to have a teammate to takeover in the clutch lmaoooo he gonna learn to play with him soon. we move.

Glad he knows. Maybe he forgot there’s a helper at that moment.

We’ve seen Luka pass up game winning/tying shots to Spece and Doe multiple times before that I can think of off the top of my head. I’m not worried about him and Kai in the clutch

Love to hear it Luka! Definitely criticize him for that play but at the same time, it’s a first to have a player of Kyrie’s talent and greatness. Good lesson for Luka.

  7. Why is this the most “Luka” quote ever?

    It checks all the boxes.

I think he just has to adjust to being more willing to give up the ball, especially in the clutch. But even earlier in games, I think he should try to move the ball around just to get everyone involved, I think Kyrie does this well.

This is the first time he’s played with a player anywhere near this good, it will take some time.

He’ll do the same thing next time he has the chance. It’s just Luka being Luka.

What doesn’t matter a whole lot is how a regular season game finishes in February. What matters a WHOLE lot is learning from it and building that relationship and real chemistry. So I like this.

very Luka, always take the blame. he’ll adjust, chill guys. hope Luka and Kyrie will become a true duo

  12. stayroasty

Good to know but defenses will trap that. He has to keep taking that shot until he makes it before defenses shift. It’s only Luka or Kyrie to hoist that last second shot and defenses know it. Supporting cast will be left wide open til further notice.

was the kyrie trade even good for team chemistry? dont the mavericks have enough guards that need the ball in their hands to be effective? why didnt we aim for a foward or center?

  14. Nico_Simon

Luka is willing to learn. Such humility from a young superstar

  15. eofficial

Yeah i am sure that’ll change, just like the crying to the refs, for sure.

  16. botebote77

if he didn’t say this, I’m 100% convinced JKidd drew the play just like that

  17. No_Lemon9071

I’m not surprised that Luka missed that clutch three. I think that he missed a clutch, stepback three against the Suns and the Pelicans early in the season. I’m sure that he’ll start making these clutch, stepback threes soon enough.

  18. juanopenings

The main problem wasn’t that he took that shot so much as he rushed it with so much time left.

Fuck there are so many cry babies in this fan base. It’s embarrassing

  20. MaleficentLoquat9827

Him acknowledging it is the best thing. He probably felt enough space to get it off and took it.

  21. MrQuiteLimited9

Also, with Kai here now to shoulder more offensive load, Luka doesn’t have an excuse on defense anymore. His effort on D was pitiful

  22. Not surprisingly Luka leads league in 1st quarter points. And Kyrie leads league in 4th quarter points. So if Jason Kidd needs a sign on what to do in clutch time, here it is.

  23. Valuable-Ad1018

I don’t think jason kidd is the “championship coach” we need, small ball can win games but not big games, even the warriors had bigs during their dynasty

  24. HuddMuffing

Think I’m done with this subreddit, y’all are fucking embarrassing lol
