Its going to be hard for Simmons with this many players needing the ball. And he wont attack the basket because he's scared of being fouled and shooting free throws. Mentally Simmons isn't up to getting back to what he was let alone of being better.
Best thing for Simmons would be for Simmons to be traded to a developing team in a small market city, get out of the public gaze and attention and rebuild his confidence and game. Teams like the Spurs, Hornets or Magic would be ideal.

Imo they have to start Ben. Yes I know all the jokes but he's still Ben Simmons and they gave up a lot to get him. They have to hope that Mikal, Claxton, Simmons and Cam Johnson can be a solid core. I think you start those 4 with Dinwiddie. Cam Thomas, O'Neal, Finney-Smith, Harris and Seth is a solid second unit, with Yuta and Mills filling in where needed. No one on this team should play more than 30 mins or take more that 12 shots so they can all get touches… imo this can still be the 6th seed in the east. No one under them is any better. And I'm a raptors fan saying this, I'm just being realistic

But also, I see This Nets Team as having a DEFENSIVE IDENTITY! I strongly-believe The Nets will be a Great, Defensive-Minded Team. So, when you Factor-in, The Shooting(Cam Johnson, Seth Curry, Joe Harris, Royce O’Neal, Spencer Dinwiddie, Patty Mills, and Cam Thomas ), along with The Defense, The Brooklyn Nets could be The 4th Seed in The East!
The Nets might already have a 50Win team. If Simmons returns to even 85% & Cam Thomas can pick his spots better, the Nets have a big upside. Dinwiddie & Thomas are closers. Cam Johnson, Curry, Harris & Watanable are the best foursome of 3pt shooters in the East, and its probably not even close. Claxton, Bridges, DFS & Simmons have been the D' anchors of their teams. I do like J.Vaughn but can you imagine Ime Udoka coaching this roster? Theyd be like the old 'Wallace Bros' Pistons.
It wouldnt surprise me to see if the nets became a top 10 defense with a top 20 offense, they have guys every team in the nba would love to have. If anything if Cam thomas becomes a stat or they manage to get a diamond in the rough in the next draft or two they could still be contenders which is lowkey crazy
I like Bridges and Cam Johnson enough that I’ll root for the Nets. Not sold on Cam Thomas as a complete package though. He can shoot and drive but I’m curious about his defense.

I really hope they make the playoffs. They are a fun team and I’m rooting for them with all that happened.
