  1. I think nobody complaining that Jakob is not a good player. The problem is that we traded 3 picks for him. 1st pick (top 6 protected) and 2 – 2nd round picks . That’s the problem. We overpaid for a player who is a free agent and probably going to get 15-20M…. Does he make us better. Yes but does this move the needle. No. We are a Trendmill team fighting for the play in. Also where is the shooting. We are so clogged in the paint. Scottie, Precious, Boucher, Jakob and siakam almost plays the same type of game…. Also let’s say we place Gary in the bench so our rotation would be FV, OG, Scottie, Siakam and Jakob. How can scottie be aggressive or take charge where the paint is already clogged. He would be at the perimeter standing at the 3 pointer. Also IMO, scottie is going to get less minutes or benched because he’s skill set at the moment is overlapping with Jakob. All eyes is on this front office and coach. Maybe they need to see in real life that this core doesn’t work and us missing the play in to make some changes in the off season. Hopefully I’m wrong but this team has no direction but a Trendmill.

  2. Jakob is a big upgrade over precious, I don’t care that he can’t shoot, we have Trent JR as a 6th man now, my biggest complaint is that we don’t have a good backup for Fred, I can’t stand Malachi Flynn

  3. pat garrett just said the raptors had the worst deadline out of any team and he doesn’t know what they’re doing by keeping so many free agents they can’t resign. Man said this core isn’t going anywhere and won’t be able to compete with the top 4 team this season or next season. He said he expected the raptors to be better this season but something is just not right and he doesn’t understand why we didn’t make more moves. He said the Jakob trade addresses the need for a center but it doesn’t move the needle. He also said the bulls should have did something.

  4. Masai’s experiment in all same size guys hasn’t worked big time, and a “Serviceable” 7 footer is a bandaid at best. They could have traded Van Vleet(he’s leaving anyway) and Annaobi as he was popular for many teams. The only way Ujuri can save himself is to try and talk Zach Edey into entering this years draft. A Top college Center at Perdue and a Toronto kid would be a major add to the Raps going forward.

  5. Everybody overpay for everything centers go for high-value that's just the world we live in

  6. I think we need to Appreciate and REWARD someone who wants go NOWHERE but TORONTO…especially with the current smoke that no one wants to come to Toronto vibe

  7. No other team traded a 1st round pick except for KD ….yet we trade one for Poertl 🤔 … so he can help us squeeze into a play in spot to get swept by Celtics. Makes zero sense ..Masai said "play in for what" a season later that's exactly what they are trying to do …luv masai but this is a FAIL

  8. So basically you're adding a centre to the core group–the one that looked unbeatable and tenacious to start the season before injuries–that's beginning to gel again? This trade won't be as divisive when we win the 7 of our next 8 games

  9. The Toronto raptors will not make it back to the finals for at least five years.. No one wins with a next to last offensive rating and wearing out starters during the regular season.. No Trades and a small guard like Fred playing too many minutes is a disaster.. I am a Toronto Raptors fan from New Jersey and never been to Toronto but I am not watching any more games of the Raptors.. Boring and anemic offense.. Take care Raptors fans..

  10. I think Masai trade for Jakob is to get offensive rebound when Fred bricks which happens a lot

  11. Reminds me when masai messed up resigning Serge and brought in Baynes. Was a non difference maker….although Baynes was the tank commander so at least he helped bring in Barnes in the lottery. Wish Game of Zones creators were still producing content. This year would be funny

  12. Getting Poetl was not the right move we could've went after him for nothing were at best winning 1 series and chances are were a first round exit with 3 guys who can walk for nothing and its not like rebuilding or retooling is an option now we don't have our pick.

  13. I don't think this was the year for Raptors to contend. They're rebuilding but just not doing the conventional tank and sell. They're keeping good pieces and trimming the fat. Right now they got options and obviously really huge decisions as we won't be able to keep all the young guys. I think OG would be a good trade candidate ( he's good but very injury prone)

  14. Between GTJ and Barnes, I would rather see Barnes come off the bench for the rest of the season. The starting unit needs a shooter even more now with the addition of Yak. With Barnes as the primary ball handler in the second unit, he can do a lot more without deferring shots to Fred and Siakam. Barnes can play more freely and develop other aspects of his game. It is very likely that we won't see either Fred, GTJ nor OG after this season. So Barnes can can come as the starter anyway.

As long as Barnes gets 25-30 min a game, that will be enough to develop his games.

  15. The Raptors will be 7th seed by the end the season at best because they are not better than the Heat. So. it means play-in at best. So the management happy with that? I thought play-in is not a priority and Masai said play-in for what? I am confused with the management not having a clear the direction of this team. Well, for the record the Raptors do not have good track record in the offseason. So, when the season ends and it is a fail season you sign all three free agent players they have for max contract? Are the Raptors rebuilding when it fails this offseason or give it another try with the same roster? What about when all 3 players walk out for nothing and even with sign and trade they will get nothing better or peanuts for nothing. Then, who do you think the management signing even they free up cap space? Nobody because nobody coming to Toronto and the track record and history proves that Toronto is a not a ideal destination for star players unless they get prone injury or end of tale career player or end of the bench type of player. Well, being located in Canada is a disadvantage unless all the players in their roster are not American born players. I know that Leonard was once in a life time type of player and the Raptors will never get a superstar. If Steve Nash back then who was a star never wanted to play in Toronto what makes the management feel confident that they can get a superstar? The reality is the Raptors never winning a championship again and very lucky that they won because Warriors was badly injured and undermanned that championship year. I mean that situation will never happen again. Also, did the management thought about when VV and Siakam gets older and their game regressed and if Barnes and Achiuwa do not meet their expectations or pan out and what know? The franchise will be doom because nobody in the bench to develop and the Raptors bench is one of the worst in the NBA plus they traded all their picks. Then, that will set the Raptors back another 10 to 15 years. Disaster season! No path to the future! Lol!

  16. The only thing I didn't like about the Poeltl trade was the pick we gave up. OG needs to stay I think a Sign & Trade for FVV will be good for the team and him as I think he needs a change of scenery. Pascal will also get moved eventually maybe not this summer but for sure next summer. We can get the pick back but it will take long. And that 2024 pick will be high. Sens Duchene type trade potentially. Hopefully it doesn't back fire.
