Maybe Mann and Russ could take some of Mook’s minutes. Please, Ty, at least give us this much!

What about Russ Mann PG Kawhi Zu
OverallInternet2343
They might bring him off the bench early on but it’s really not going to make a lot of difference from other situations unless he starts. Not sure I like the spacing idea if you pair him with Mann and Zubac. I think Mann takes a point forward role while eating up all of Bones minutes plus handling any stagger minutes for George and Leonard

Can’t wait for Kawhi to be doubled teamed every possession. Going to be literally unwatchable watching Brick settle for midrange and 3s to close games

While trying to be an optimist about this, this is my main concern. I want Mann’s minutes going up as the season goes along, they should not be going down.
lets_talk_basketball
This forces you to either go with 3 guard lineups and play small.. Or forfeit spacing and play w/ Zu or Plumlee out there. Same issue the Lakers were having.
IndigoRivers
I like the Russ fit only in a reduced role usage + minutes. Don’t think he should be the primary initiator, more of a fulcrum. Do really think he can be important if he’s reigned in.

I really hope Ty benches Mook if he’s gonna start Russ. A lineup with russ, pg, mann, kawhi and zu doesn’t sound bad to me
ElDuderino_92
So glad everyone is vocal about this. It’s fucking dumb. Westbrook at the bench lineup is better than most starting lineups and will make everyone better tbh
checkdafool
I would be way more okay with this move if it was morris moving to the bench and mann starting with westbrook
Kontrolgaming
there’s no way russ can start, in my eyes.. but knowing nba he will.

It’s repeating that same BS that was using Wall and Reggie instead of Mann late in the game when it was clear that Mann was better
rushfangirl69
can someone explain why terance mann’s development is so important? he’s going to be 27 this year and isn’t exactly lighting the league up
heisensmeg
I think Russ is gonna pursue his 6th man of the year award and will be playing from the bench the rest of the season
Dare555
Russ is a starter in this league and you know he wouldn’t sign without getting guaranteed spot . So yeah rip Mann and rip Bones minutes also
baldful
if lue starts russ after he was on the bench on a shitty old lakers team, then maybe its time for a new coach
